The "official" 2011 Fall Dragon Run thread...Oct 6th-9th

Hectour, you could stay with Randy and me in the Honeymoon cabin (no homo). It's a bigger cabin with 2 bedrooms, a sofa bed and room for a few cots or air mattresses. Last year 6 of us split the cost and it was dirt cheap.

Also, I am going to be burning CDs of anything I think I'll want to listen to while I'm up there since I can't listen to my iPod in the RX8. So who plays music and who listens to their cars?

It's to bad i fixed the exhaust, so no more loud. I guess i'll have to play music. To bad i only have 2 speakers.

I always listen to music while driving the Sjyway and Dragon! Derek burned me an entire disc of The Crystal Method and some of the songs were on Forza too, very cool indeed. I also made a cd years ago entitled "Inspirational driving music 1 and 2" One of the discs has all Joe Satriani and the other is a mix of Gary Hoey, Eric Johnson, Steve Vai and video game driving music. I always bring the Godsmack cd with the girl on the cover too. I would need a Ferrari of some kind to not listen to any music out there, I'm very much into music like I am cars, the two go hand in hand!

Hectour, we'll make it happen no matter what! Billy has stepped up with one idea that will reduce the cost for sure, we'll figure it out, don't worry, ok.

BTW, can't remember if I posted it or not but my step Dad can't make it out with me this year, his work changed their vacation policy and its not first come, first serve and all the hunters took that weekend off so he can't make it out. Also, its looking like Eathen can't make it out because he might be going back to school in the fall instead of the winter and its north of him and he'll be doing that. I'm waiting to hear back from him and I talk to him about twice a week so we'll see how it goes, either my step Dad or Eathen are too happy about it either.

Today's countdown is brought to you by www.peopleofwalmart.com "feeling bad, click here and you'll be cured, guaranteed or your money back!"

-Last year for solid rear axle on the Corvette

-Last year for a trunk on Corvette until 2001.

-My favorite full-size Chevy comes out, the Bel-Air model (look up a red "bubble top" from this year)

The occurance for all this, 1962.......62 days to go, almost into the 50's!

Are we going to be the only Contour there? I lost count on how many and what kind of cars were gonna be there!

There has to be atleast one, right? I mean the home has been and always be the CEG, no matter how many other forums we've got our tenticles into! As far as I can remember there's always been atleast 1 Contour at our run, so yeah, you could be the soul flag waver for CEG pride, maybe you should make up an official CEG flag and wave from your car and/or cabin, would make for a good photo opt for sure....

Plain and simple here, no sponsors or facts (can't think of anything all to interesting right now anyways) but its...
60 DAYS TO GO!

Well, a photoshop of what they'd look like on the car with my current new wheel set up, nice, huh:shrug: Going to the Another Level carshow yesterday with Hectour confirmed the fact that I really, really, really need springs and these are the ticket for sure:cool:

We do have an SVT banner, I think Sam has it at the SVT Warehouse. Maybe we will bring that! We also have Ford patio lights we could bring that might be pretty funny if we could hang them somewhere! I will look into a CEG flag.

Bring all of it and set it up at your cabin, its safe left out out there, trust me!

Last year we had a couple CSVT's out there and while I'm thinking of it, can you post pics of your CSVT for us to enjoy?

The Black one ("Rachel") is the one that will be making the trip, although she may have the T-Red's ("Becky") wheels and tires on her.
Becky has new tires. Rachel needs 2 new ones. Might not have $$ for them before the trip.

Good news, well for me anyway.

I managed 300 miles on the last tank of fuel i used. About 90% highway driving at 75mph. 300 miles on a 12 gallon tank = 25mph highway. I'm happy. I think fixing my exhaust helped a bunch.

I love the 6 spoke FSVT wheels on the black CSVT, as well as those other wheels too. Your smart to have the better rubber down there for sure, no doubt about it!

Dillon, that's a pretty good guess on the mileage but why didn't you just figure the "actual" mileage out, this way you've got a more accurate number? I'm glad you did take care of the exhaust though, good job. Anything else getting done/upgraded before the run......speaking of that:

FIFTY NINE MORE DAYS TO GO!

We may have another noob going, with a CSVT from Michigan!

We may have another noob going, with a CSVT from Michigan!

I had a guy Justin drop me a PM and I let him know just about everything on how to join us down there in less than 2 monthes, not much less than 2 but hey, it is LESS than, right:shrug: It will be nice to have a noob and another CSVT make the trip out. Not sure how many we'll have for sure but right now if Justin makes it out, that would be 2 for sures, 3 if Jason makes it and more if any surprises come up, you never know with this group!

The countdown today is brought to you by The Fox News Channel....fair and balanced:cool:

-First year for the Corvette to go quad headlights, actually, all GM cars go quad headlights

-First year of the "bloated bird", the T-Bird turns into a 4 seater:nonono:

....and he's from another country to boot and its right-hand drive, 2 more firsts for our run, when will it end! He says the engine is mostly done and its about to go in for paint!!!

Been away for awhile figured Id check in. Got about 75 miles on the Daytona and think Im gonna do a cam change, its a little too high strung for just driving around. Changed jobs and haven't had much time for anything else. Been workin a buttload of OT so bout to do some upgrades on the Daytona, possibly stack injection EFI. And I gotta get around to finishing a damn Corolla head laying in the floor of the man cave.

Glad you got that other job Josh, just let us know here if you've actually gotta work that weekend of the Dragon. If not, bring out the new Focus and TEAR IT UP! Oh yeah, get that head taken care of, we need that Rolla on the road ASAP but it sounds like its going to make the 10th anniversary run instead of this years run, guess Eric will have to bring the "school bus" back out there.

Time to change things up a bit......

Lawerence Taylor number of days to go!

so heres the deal. my 91 240sx hatch isnt coming along how i wanted, my limited budget is not helping. im at the point with the car where i have to pick and chose what to fix and what not to fix to be able to take it on this trip. for example, i need a new radiator something bad. but the money for that now has to go to fixing the exhaust, and so on. the last thing i want to do is kill the car or even possiably me for something that i didnt fix. and another thing is that i took the car apart to put it back together the way i wanted. the last thing i want to do is rush & skip steps to get it done. i have made that mistake one to many times.

so i have and option or 2

#1 i can keep throwing the car together, and risk the car, myself, or some one else because the car is not up to par.
#2 i just dont go and save some $$$$

or #3 wich i thought of last night instead of sleeping for school. for half the cost i can get my 89 240sx coupe ready to go.

now its not the best by any means, not fast, and even worse its an auto. but it means that i still get to go, i will be more comfortable and happy.

so thats where im at. im up in the air about the whole deal. things did not go how they were suposed to this year an this is a result of that. so i look forward to hearing your thoughts on the subject, what would you do if you were me?
