Kinda reminds me of that one Top Gear episode where they buy the diesel Beemer and enter it in that 24 hour race and they had it tore down right before qualifying! Hey Tyler, you got that sort of team working with you, right? The pre-Dragon meet looks like its going to be at Jim's house, the guy with the Fiero/S15 pickup and whatever else he get's his hands on this year, so you need to come by and introduce yourself and hang out for a bit with us. I will wheel on Dillon's ride while I'm there too, sort of a "how to" and what can be done with the right products and technique.

Sorry, not alot of time for the countdown right now, maybe later.........

lmao. my crew is basically nothing like the crew they had. mainly me and dillon. ya i know jim he knows me (sorta). got all the parts i need for it today, but were having a pain in the ass time trying to get the exhaust to line up right and i also broke an exhaust stud off in the block. so ya were working on it. pizza break time right now.

I wish I had more to report on here. Been doing more cosmetic stuff on the car, just becasue it is cheap to do and there is a big car show Roger and I are attending next week .

On a personal note, I've been struggling with finances for the last 2 months and I am trying to get that situated. The Dragon trip is planned, but if I don't have the money it may not happen.

So my car developed rod knock.

Then fixed itself. Sorta.

An oil change is in order today i guess.

Ummmm, which car? How in the hell did it "fix itself" I'd run heavier grade oil in that car from now on for sure, especially for the trip to the Dragon, high rev's can break down the oil quickly, especially when living up around 5k+ all the time! This isn't as much of an issue when running syn and I'm not sure if you do or don't but hope all is well with the car Dillon.

Now we come to today's count....

-Jimi Hendrix comes back home to play the Monterey Pop Festival, plays a blistering set and burns and smashes his guitar....a legend is born!

-The greatest Corvette ever ( a fact, look it up) is released and will be its last year before a dramatic body style change, the 3rd time that happens in 10 years, try that today....yeah right!

- ^^^L-88 engine option first appears in the Corvette, "rated" at 430 hp (REAL number is closer to 560 hp!) ^^^

-Jimi Hendrix releases "Are you experienced".....are you?

-The Camaro and Firebird are released to combat the Mustang, playing catch up is tough, just ask Plymouth!

-"Summer of Love"

-All GM intermediates are in their last year of their body style

-Mustang is re-styled and Shelby offers both small and big blocks in them

A great year for sure, 1967...........67 DAYS TO GO!!!

Checked the plugs - good
Compression tested - good 175 on all 4
Drained the oil and sifted for metal and shavings - nothing was found
Had a rattling noise i thought was coming from the engine - just an exhaust heat shield

Ordered a magnetic drain plug, i'm gonna fill with 5w30 instead of 10w30 this time. Valvoline full synthetic and a mobile 1 filter.

Other than that, not much more i can do. The noise stopped....

This must not happen! You are our Great Mazda Leader!
Sorry to hear that. Hope you get everything sorted out.

No matter what, Hectour will make the trip this year, trust me, so the Mah-zda's will have their leader out there. Speaking of that, between Mah-zda's and Honda's we're at 10 cars, where's the CSVT's? For the anniversary run next year we should have alot more Contours out there, it just makes sense, right?

I've got a couple more collectables on Ebay right now, so I haven't ruled out getting the springs yet but time is getting short. If I do pull the trigger and get them I'll need to go back to Detroit for the weekend, get them installed by my buddy and find a good place out here to get an alignment. I wish I had some vacation time because I'd love to have the shop I used to work at align my car. I remember when they aligned my Mini it felt like a new car, I wonder if they could do a perf alignment on the Fit?

Another day, another list:

-The band Cream forms in England, the first "supergroup"

-First year 4 wheel disc brakes are standard on the Corvette

-First year for the 427 in the Corvette

-Last year for full wheel covers on the Corvette

-Rolling Stones release the song "Paint it black"

-My late Dad starts working for GM and buys himself his first Covette (327/350 hp-4spd-3.36 gear) for $4200 and it runs a 14.2@100 mph at Detroit Dragway.

The year......1966, Route 66 more days to go!

Hectour, I just noticed that the day you sold your Contour is your wedding anniversary, ironic!

I wanted to let you guys know that I'm setting up the pre-Dragon meet back home to meet the noobs going and touch base with the vets to see what's shakin' with everyone. I wish I could do this on the Fit site because there's alot more of them going, but the looks of it, the majority of them have been out there before, even this year infact and they all sound cool, especially the husband/wife team taking each of their own Fits who've been out there before, should be interesting for sure. Remember, we are small but we are plenty!!!

Today's list is brought to you by COPS....longest running reality show on TV!

-Last year for mechanical fuel injection on the Corvette

-Last year for drum brakes on the Corvette, disc brakes are an option for the first time

-Mustang sales reach 1 million in its 1st full year or production!

-Best lookin' GTO debuts (again its a fact, look it up)

-Best lookin' Riveria debuts, even Dalton has one in "Roadhouse" but only after checking to make sure the clamshell headlights work though

-Race Hemi invades NECKCAR...street version comes out a year later

-Yardbirds have both Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck in the band, Clapton leaves earlier

-Oh yeah, greatest Mustang ever comes out, the GT350!!!

-Shelby wins World Championship in the Daytona coupe', first of many to come

-Mini wins the WRC, again!

Its Thunder Kiss 65 days to go!

My wife is a keeper! I sold my Tour and got my Evo on our anniversary (10/20 has always been our anniversary so that's when we got married).
Bought my brother's Evo on her birthday one year.

She didn't get mad!

Got my Eibach sway bars in the mail today. I think i'm going to wait until i can afford bushings and new end links before i install them. Might as well do it right, if i'm going to do it at all. I bought them used, and got a good deal on them, so i'm happy.

It's all in my project log.

what do the endlinks look like? Maybe TZT (that would be me) can make you some beefed up adjustable ones.

These are the adjustable polyurethane end links by racing beat i was looking at.

I'm not sure how these look compared to stock, and the 90-97 cars use the same front and rear end link.

hmm, I think i can come up with something. any idea on the length from center of bolt to center of bolt?

Couldn't tell ya, I'll have to look at my stock ones. . Also, they would need to be under or around $60 for a pair.

I did this today............

Sometimes things are done to a car because its a good idea and looks good at the time but when you start to think about what else you wanna do to the car, it then doesn't work. Case being, I did this because I was going to wrap the roof but when I found out it was $400 to do that, well, I couldn't justify that right now, especially when the Mugen grill is about about $100 cheaper than that and will change the whole look of the car. That being said, I will probably wrap the entire hood in the spring and that's half of what the roof would've cost. On a side note, since I didn't have the wheel before the area of the hood was wrapped you should see the swirls in the center of the hood:shocked:

The following countdown is brought to you by NUTELLA....LEGAL DRUG THAT SPREADS OVER BREAD!

-Icon is shown to the world by Porsche, originally to be called the 901 but then Puegot stepped in said we own the right to cars named with that number combo. Porsche said ok, we'll add 1 to the mix, enter the 911. Public was able to buy them a year later....still an awesome supercar!

-Speaking of ICONS....SPLIT WINDOW, NUFF SAID!

-JFK shot and killed in Dallas

Welcome to 1963....63 days to go:cool:

*BONUS FEATURE*

Took this for a test drive a couple weekends ago, gotta wait for the Abarth and then a year after that and we'll see how it goes. By then there's going to be other cool hot hatches out too, the Sonic turbo, Fiesta ST and maybe a real engine in the CR-Z, who knows. I felt the difference in weight between my car and this one too, that's about 300 lbs and boy is this car small, smaller than the Mini and alot smaller than my Fit but damn was it fun to drive and yes, I got to drive the 5 speed too!

Oh yeah and get this, for those of you who know me and my distaste for red (sorry Dillon) I'd get this in the darker red they offer and its not even metallic, the world may be coming to an end! BTW, I like Derek's red because its pearl metallic, not straight red, just not a red personality I guess.
