"THE" Official 2010 Fall Dragon Run...Oct 7th thru 10th!

Reminder: don't forget to pack your favorite CDs for the system demos on Saturday evening. I may not have a particular musical selection that you're familiar with, though I will have lots to choose from.

Hey Derek, hope that guy does come out there and meet up with us, not sure where we'll be at what time but he can always meet us down towards the end of the Dragon at our meeting spot though, depending what time he gets out there. I'd say we'll be around that area 3-ish if I had to guess. On Saturday we're all going straight out there, no stops and hopefully we don't run into an traffic in our run (yeah, right, Saturdaty afternoon

)

Yeah hopefully I hear from him. Left him my cell number so hopefully he calls me.

Just got to pack, make sure I got everything, and clean up the car (just a pre-trip ritual). Burned some CDs and have to rearrange my CDs and DVDs for the trip.

What's a CD?

I haven't bought one of those in years, straight digital for this guy!!

Ok how many of us notice new noises coming from thier car just before trips? I'm just paranoid I guess.

I am right there with you, trust me!!

Twenty-twenty-twenty four hours to go I wanna be sedated
Nothin' to do and no where to go-o-oh I wanna be sedated
Just get me to the airport put me on a plane
Hurry hurry hurry before I go insane
I can't control my fingers I can't control my brain
Oh no no no no no
Twenty-twenty-twenty four hours to go....

Derek, nice Ramone's reset!

Yeah, I've got my tower of CD's still, maybe one day I'll join the 21st century and load them onto a computer and then onto an Ipod. That process will take a couple weeks as I've got a little over 500 CD's. I've got the good stuff, driving music for the trip as usual, but don't forget the Crystal Meth-od for something new to add to the mix Derek.

Kirk Gibson number of hours to go!!!

HAHA, I had a wheel fall off driving home from Chicago at like 2AM. Ever since then any drive over 1.5 hours and every little noise freaks me out!

be safe and have fun guys!!

Going tot he shop to adjust my coilovers. After that I have my wheels on the car, I am going to wash wax them, everything is basically packed in the car and we'll be ready to go. (:

*** WARNING*** ***WARNING*** ***WARNING*** ***WARNING***

My sister that lives in the Indianapolis area just called me with a traffic alert.

I-70 will be closed in Indianapolis to traffic in both directions between 6AM and 6PM Thursday October 7. The closure is between I-465 in the southwest corner of the city by the airport and I-65 downtown.

This means that all the traffic that normally drives on I-70 through this area will be trying to find alternate routes (in panic mode perhaps?) that will likely include I-65 from downtown to I-465 on the south side, as well as I-465 along the south and southeast sides of the city between the two interchanges with I-70. Please allow a little extra time for the additional traffic congestion, even outside of typical rush hour periods.

I now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.......

Would taking 80 to Toledo to I-75 take us out of the way too much?

I'll be off work in about 45 minutes, so I'll check this out when I get home and call Hectour too? Don't mind going a bit out of the way to avoid this or an entirely differernt route altogether.

The weather is lookin' good too, everywhere, gotta love Indian summer!

My sister indicated that the delay/congestion that is expected probably is not enough to warrant a redirect that adds more than 20 - 30 mins to the route... I told her of an alternate route of backroads/state highways I was considering to avoid the road construction on the west side of Indy, and she said it would add about an hour to the normal travel time, which is longer than the delays I would expect to just go through on the interstate.

Her suggestion was to follow the regular routes, but just allow an extra 10-20 mins to get through it all and be ready for a few miles of more than typical traffic.

Oh, well in that case....FULL STEAM AHEAD!

Hey Bob, I've got some Miles Davis I'd like to hear on Saturday night and Santana's "Europa" as well, if there's time, don't wanna hog all the audible bliss!

Roger had me freaked out....LOL I doubt we will hit any more traffic.

Well, we're not leaving that early. I wouldn't call leaving at 5:45 a.m. early, but you've gotta consider the source...ME! If it were up to me, I'd be leaving at 2 or 3 a.m., maybe one day, huh?

Well folks, its about time to change my clothes and the get the F out of here. BTW, I've got myself some good karma this afternoon by hooking up Hectours bro a good deal on 2 sets of tires. I'm building my Discount Tire rep here in Chicago now, 14 years in Detroit and now, since mid December of 2009, this will make the 4th and 5th set of tires I've sent this place, pretty good IMO. Now I just need to have a job there and get paid for what I enjoy doing with all my friends and family....and strangers for that matter.

I'll demo for as long as anyone wants to hear it. The only rules I have are: 1) if you want a demo, please ask. I don't want to force it on people while we are there so I won't go around and say "Wanna listen to it?" to anyone that has not expressed prior interest; 2) I'll keep playing tidbits from various CDs until you have listened to all you want and reach for the door handle.

Remember: Hearing something is passive... Listening to something is interactive...

I don't usually let people "hear" my system (usually the person that wants to "hear" it justs wants to hear the "boom" from outside  ) but I will let them "listen" to it all they want.

I'll play it for anyone that asks, for as long as they want to listen, and I have been known to have sessions last a while. One of my favorite tracks to demo with lasts about 12 mins all by itself, but I'll ask before I pop that one in. :) It is a powerful track that usually ends in a moment of silence while the impact is still sinking in. I love it!!. I have been known to demo for hours at a time... I also love to hear music that I don't have, so please bring things you are familiar with so I can hear something new too. :-)

Well, the car is as ready as it'll ever be. She's washed and ready to go
Bottle's filled.
I'm 99.9% packed.
Brought tools and such.
My shop pitched in cleaning suppiles via RT66 Exotic Coating. I have a few bottles of Quick Change detail spray and Road Kill cleaner for our wheels. Everyone is free to use it, all you have to do is take a flier of our product home with you.

See every one in a few hours!

Going to bed right now and will be getting up in about 7 hours, God only knows how long its going to take for me to fall asleep. I'll be getting up in about 7 hours, 4:20 a.m. and no, nothing special about 4:20 and me....well, not anymore and not that I did that mu.....wait, too much info, time for bed! See you guys at 5:30, look for the green HIDs, and everyone elses HIDs with yellow fogs, boy we'll stand out on the Dragon.

REMEMBER, WHILE ON THE SKYWAY AND DRAGON...HEADLIGHTS AND FOGS ON FOR SAFETY AND TOGETHERNESS!

Going to bed now. alarm set for 4:00. Leaving by 5 since I have about 40 miles farther to get to Louisville than the crew from the oasis in Chicago. see y'all in a bit.
