I am up and ready but very tired. My baby girl Emma has an ear infection so I got about 4 hours of sleep the other night and about the same last night, ha! :zzz: I am heading out at 5:20! Here we come Dragon! :laugh:
 
Its 4:40 CST and I've got about 15 minutes before I head to the car wash and jump on the freeway to meet up with the other Chicago guys. Because 3 of the xceedspeeders are already there, our caravan will be limited to 6 cars this time in. Looks like we've got great weather, a blessing that I don't take for granted in the 8 years I've been doing this. That fog last year was a blessing as well, it got all the sightseers off of the road for us. Before that, one drizzly morning on the Skyway, the year we had a white Cougar with NOS and that's it. I also remember HEAVY fog when returning home in the wee hours of the morning, I used to leave at about 5:30 a.m. to go home, the first 2 years and the fog was as bad as what we encountered on the Skyway except this was I-75!

Anywho, everyone be safe in the drive down and we'll be there around dinner time, fire up those grills guys....HERE WE COME!
 
We're a little over an hour away - stopped in E Elijay, GA for gas & Walmart... nearly to TN :)4

We picked up hamburg meat (about 8 lbs) & 24 buns. Tonight's or tomorrow's dinner contribution.
 
Hey guys, I haven't been around in a while, but I'm a local to Deal's Gap. I'll be around Deal's Gap in my Lightning tomorrow. My brother will be up there with his 3L CSVT that we put together a couple years ago. Hope to see/hear some good looking Contours out there this weekend.

If any of you are bored on Sunday, there's an autocross in Knoxville on Sunday. I'll be there co-driving a CRX this weekend since my Focus is in the middle of a clutch change and under hood cleaning. Check out www.etrscca.org if you want any more info on the autocross event.

You're in Maryville? I go through there on my way to meet the group. I am staying in Pigeon Forge. We are meeting at the Exxon gas station in Tellico Plains at 10:30 or so this morning n order to head out on the skyway soon after.

Meet with us there if you like, or I can meet you in Maryville if you give me enough notice.
 
I got home about 9:30 tonight, central time. I checked out about 9:30 eastern, washed the car, then crawled in traffic to get on the interstate with all the other tourists. Stopped in Indy for a couple hours to have supper and visit with family before completing the journey home.

I had a good time for my first dragon gathering. I hope to do it again.
 
Got home about 8pm CST after stopping with Matt when his caliper came loose on 64 and started hitting the wheel. Long day, but no one was left behind.

I will post thoughts of this years run a little later.

Glad to see 'home safe' posts filtering in. I hate being so close to home so I never know when ya'll are getting home - or having calipers fall off??? :confused: Anyways, the 86 is parked in time out and I'll roll the pimp Camry for a while until I get the fuel sorted.
