"THE" Official 2010 Fall Dragon Run...Oct 7th thru 10th!

Dan, that's pretty good mileage indeed, you should've experimented with the Aero button, but when you do don't hit the eject button, its right near there, right?...or is it near the oil slick button...NO, its 3 down from the machine guns:crazy: I'll tell you what Dan, I borrow you 5 mpg, if you could spare 30 hp for me, deal:shrug:

it doesnt have that many gadgets. I could just turn up the boost to cover the spare 30HP.

I am bringing my Eagles CD! I have to hear Hotel California on an awesome sound system.

Hell Freezes Over is actually one of the 40 CDs I do have in the car... and yes it does sound good if I do say so myself. :) I also have other things that sound better though, if you're willing to take the time to enjoy them.

Somwhere nice and quiet, well, that's our cabin area for sure, not to mention anywhere on the Skyway or Dragon. Heck, we'll be out there at night and if you go with us Bob, that would be perfect! I remember listening to a CD in your car a couple years ago, but I don't remember what it was, probably Jimi Hendrix/Band of Gypsys "Machine Gun". Now that I think of it, another first would be complete with you going out there with us Bob, our first celebrity....your a World Champion!

Greatest running back to EVER lace them up number of days to go!

For you non sports fans, that would be Barry Sanders, #20!

First celebrity, first carbeurated car, what else is first this year? BTW - I've got mechanical VTEC and you can hear when it kicks in!

Hey Eric, add yourself to the "who's going list", I thought you were on there already:crazy: You gotta have dinner with us in Tellico though, can you do it?

We're waiting to hear from Dan about his 3000:blackeye:

blew out a coolant hose this morning. still concerned about warped heads since i saw the coolant gauge pegged at 280, I drove it less than 2 miles on the interstate when the CEL came one but all the gauges were still good at the time. it wasnt until i was getting off and came to a stop that i noticed smoke coming from under the hood and then temp at which point i promptly hit the shoulder and shut it down. did a compression test on the cold engine this evening and got the following, keep in mind spec is 156 with a minimum of 115 and a difference high/low of no more than 14
1: 130
2: 135
3: 130
4: 140
5: 150
6: 140

now, for having 223K miles on it, and being 17 years old, those numbers seem pretty good. im just concerned about the 20PSI difference on the front bank (1, 3, and 5).

it also stutters and hesitates anytime boost gets over about 9-10PSI, but it was doing that before this morning.

I guess you could call the dealership about that, I'm sure they have some way of knowing if those numbers are acceptable. I'd call the Mitsubishi dealership instead of Dodge, they probably forgot about having the same car back in the day. The difference could be just because its got almost a quarter million miles on it. I hope all is well, keep us posted. When you dropped me the txt yesterday you said your not going to the Dragon for sure now, were you thinking about trying to make it out Dan?

"The Captain" number of days to go....we're now in the teens!

"The Captain" is #19, Steve Yzerman, longest serving captain ever in the NHL and rightly so! I still remember this call from back in the day...."60 foot shot by the Captain...STEVE YZERMAN WINS IT WITH A BULLET! Sorry if there's any blues fans out there, oh well, we won the cup that year!

Back on topic, is everyone about ready to go, any projects finishing up...or about to get started?

im always trying to find a way to come down there. this i think just took any chance there may have been away though.

What is this thing you call the "NHL"...? is it some sort of naval fleet or something? with captains and bullets and shooting... that is all I could come up with...

And yesterday's clue...
Greatest running back to EVER lace them up number of days to go!

when I first read it I thought you'd lost track of time... we were not 34 days away as your clue suggested... (Walter Payton, a/k/a "Sweetness"). Then I saw you were not confused about the days, just the clue itself.

"Sweetness" was awesome for sure, a bit before my time. Rumor has it that him and Barry were very close and when Walter got sick, Barry wanted nothing to do with taking that record and to be honest with you, I'm surprised Barry even knew he was close. Do you remember what Barry did with the ball when he scored a touchdown....probably learned that from Walter I bet. You couldn't get two "Klassy" guys to represent our 2 cities. Its also believed that Barry left the game because he was tired of losing, hmmm, imagine that, the Lions/Fords running the guy out of town because of their imcompetence! Barry just needed to play one or two seasons more to have and hold the record forever! Oh well, easy come, easy go!

Eathen is almost done with his S2000, pics coming this weekend I bet!

How's everybody else doing?

I emailed the official tail of the dragon site and they didn't add us to their event calander for sure some reason but what's cool is there isn't another club running our weekend either, maybe we'll get lucky. Whom ever did this last year, maybe you could do that again, you've got the lucky touch I guess and I'm chop liver I guess:shrug:

Just curious, who's IN on the night run this year:confused:

I was reading the official site and it appears a change in Tennessee law lets the cops keep a portion of the ticket fines for their counties...CHA-CHING!

Me.

blah blah blah blah blah, said my message was to short.

Im in. Did it with my two previous cars and the cupacabra prevented us the one year so let's do this night run.

Getting ready. Got my oil and filter. Picking up my chassis bracing later. Got some Lucas Slick Mist for the trip. I've wanted to try it. Going to check everything when I am under the car putting on the bracing. Other than that I just need to pick up some AAA batteries for my two ways.

Yeah, the 2-way radio's, its pretty important to have one or two of them. The lead car reporting an accident ahead or cops (haven't heard that report yet...knocking on wood right now!) Remember, we're on channel 8 this year, for our 8th annual Fall Dragon run!

Just went out on this road near my work, Bluff Rd, to get a little drive in before work this morning and tested out my brakes from about a 50 mph "emergency stop"=======they work:cool:

"I'M EIGHTEEN.....number of days to go! Gotta put a musical reference in here somewhere:shrug: Speaking of music and the number 18, today is Sept 18th and is the 40th anniversery of the passing of Jimi Hendrix. He's my favorite musical artist and if you get a chance today, check out his music and watch a video on YouTube, he's amazing. May I suggest "Woodstock" or "Isle of Wight", Voodoo Chile, All along the watchtower" or Dolly Dagger, not to be confused with Chelsea Dagger:rolleyes:

Burn me some of your CDs and I will listen.

Burn them with what:o:shrug:

You could load them onto your computer and put them on your MP3 and listen to them in your MS3 while driving a quick MPH but becareful in Michigan so you don't pulled over by the MSP:crazy:

New brakes are done, Hubcentric rings on order, oil change this coming Friday and I will have the entire suspension checked to make sure it's good to go!! Going to get some 2-ways this week plus I bought an extra set of my HID bulbs just case one burns out while in no where land!

Just curious, who's IN on the night run this year:confused:

What the heck, I am in!

Picking up my chassis bracing later.....
That bracing looks crazy, dang car will be running on rails now!!! How's the ride going to be on Illinois roads?

I have an extra 2-way radio Derek;)

Days like today in Chicago make me long for the Dragon because just about every time I've been there the weather has been nice, even our foggy morning cleared up. One of the early days out there, probably the 2nd one, we had a good drizzle on the Skyway and had to take it easy for sure. We had a white Cougar with us with NOS and his brakes were blue by the end and IIRC he was having issues with the car to boot:crazy:

I'm thinking Eathen will be all done with his S2000 tomorrow, so that will be good and Hectour will probably start and finish his gurdering of the underside of the MS3 and me, well, my mods have been done for a while, but I will say my tranny seems to shift harder since the conversion to Mobil 1, who knows, maybe I picked up some more power:rolleyes::shrug:

Stop getting me so excited for this!. So I decided to fix my camber from like 5 degrees negative to correct ha, those 2 in. spacers I bought are now to much, i will be ordering I think 25mm, or 20mm spacers at the beginning of this coming week. Transmission will be out tomorrow so i can get the clutch in. Honda only wants 70.00 for a 4-wheel alignment. So everything is going along well. Honda will be able to adjust the camber and the toe with fully adjustable megan racing toe arms and SPC camber kit installed! :D

I can't wait, trip is getting so close.

My transmission will be out tomorrow. I have been slowly working on it, the girl friend is sick so i am taking care of her ATM, but in about an hour I am coming home to work more on the car before going back there to go to bed.
