"THE" Official 2010 Fall Dragon Run...Oct 7th thru 10th!

Josh, thanks for the offer, but its going to be waaay to hard to get everyone there by that time, I guess we'll have to wait till next year but then again, your car will be all done and we can plan it out better too.

Billy, Honda Fit speeds, LOL! Hectour is heading up the night run and he even said you can't run it at the regular speed at night, cool with me.

Matt, glad you found the "who's going list", your car #22.

There's no pressure for ANYONE to run the Dragon/Skyway at night, this is purely just to see what its like for me and honestly, like I said earlier, I just wanna take it all in out there in the pitch dark, I think it would be really cool to be honest with you guys.

Tint is getting finished today. Has nothing to do with the Dragon trip but I will soon post pics of a mod that will matter for the trip.

Bad day to do tint for sure, but not the other mod, can't wait to see the pics, although I know what it is! Hey Hectour, did you get ahold of Josh, he was trying to get ahold of you.

I'll be heading home today after work for the pre-Dragon meeting, I'll let you know about my findings, good or bad.

Darren McCarty number of days to go!

I was thinking, next year will probably be that year when we take over everything at Caney Creek, imagine that photo:cool:

WOW!, how long does a tint job take anyways:shrug:

Talk about not having to do a thing either, especially the rims, is there anything better for it:shrug:

Sorry about the pic not appearing, it wouldn't let me for some reason!
You're definitely not joking about the sexual content! The color is even right. I bet I would have to relearn how to row through the gears though on a right hand drive car. That's not a complaint, just an observation.

My meeting with the noobs from xceedspeed

My meeting with the noobs from xceedspeed

All but 1 or 2 of the noobs showed up, Derek was playing Army and everyone else was there who went from last year (sans Alex and his buddy but he already said they weren't able to make it this year)

Eathan has his S2000 back home and is beginning to do clutch teardown, maintence check and is installing a new oil pan and gasket as well.

Joe isn't bringing the 240SX this year, but rather a BMW X3 with fat tires and suspension but will have access to the "4 door ZR1" for atleast one day out there, Randy, I'm sure that peaks your interest:cool:

Ken "The Don" has new tires/wheels, gauges and some other little mods done to the RalliArt, he's ready to go and has an auto-X under his belt as well, experience is a good thing!

Jim has his Fiero in pieces as he's installing a 3.4L engine and new clutch so in its place is the PPE (Purple People Eater) a GMC Sonoma with springs, 16" GTA wheels, upgrades brakes, exhaust, intake and chip (yeah, its an older ride) 4.3L V6 and a 5 speed to boot:cool:

Me...you already know about my ride, blah, blah, blah. Just netted my best mileage going home (38.9 vs.38.5) and got 41.2 mpg coming back home, a bit off the record of 42.8mpg. I can only talk MPG...not MPH:shrug::o:crazy:

Alex...93' Taurus LX

Dillion...94' Grand Am SE

Hopefully we hear something from the guy with the turbo'd and modded Alero and 97' DSM Spyder soon.

I still need to hear the final plans for "Tent City" before anyone is added to the list for sure.

Kirk Gibson number of days to go!

Alright pics are up now better ones will arrive soon.

Enjoy.

Not a 94...

I think it's an 02.

This is what i posted on xceed, it should give you guys some idea.

Oh yeah, i still have room at my tent site for one more.

I'll say it again, for half the price you can pitch tent on my site too!!

Not sure if i mentioned this already. The car has a new (used) transmission with 50k on it, new filter and fluid. It also has a new (rebuilt) steering rack, with new outer tie rods. Eibach springs front and rear, with KYB struts front and rear. Screw adjustable, solid straight strut tower bars front and rear. 4300k HID's in projector housings, H1 Halogen reflector housings as well. Intake and GT exhaust, mainly just for sound. I will be putting new plugs in within a week or so. I did a thorough check down on the front and rear suspension today, everything looks and feels tightly in place and where it should be.

My tail lights are tinted, but i assure you that they are just as bright. No need to worry.

And, a picture of this ugly hunk.

Do i get to be on the list?

I was worried about night driving in the 86 since the lights seemed pretty dim and the interior lights were so dark. But I figured out last night that I keep bumping the dimmer switch when I turn on the headlights and dimming everything. I went by Josh's 'compound' last night; might be a little out there for some city boys. ;) So I'm definitely in for a night run, no rally lights needed! I am very surprised at how much torque this little 1.6L makes; but I guess any motor can seem strong in a sub-2000lb car.

Dillion, since you've already reserved your tent site your good to go, but take our advice to heart about the brakes for sure and as far as your tires go, well, I didn't check them out really well when I was there, but do the quarter test (its now a quarter, not a penny anymore) At the very least, do a tire rotation if the rears are a little better. I mean if you get out there and the car can't handle it because the tires can't handle it or the brakes fade too much, just park it and you might be able to ride shotgun in someone else's ride, I'm sure there's a couple people in our run flying solo. We want you to be safe and come back next year with a more improved ride once you see what the Skyway/Dragon (140 miles of torture) is all about.

Now if your spot on about your car, enjoy the ride, its like nothing you've ever done before!

Oh yeah, you can add yourself to the list now that your a member here, drop me a PM if you run into a problem adding yourself.

A couple "little" suggestions if you don't mind:shrug: One, get ahold of this guy Vinnie at Motor City Vinyl and have him make you some custom, dommed centercap decals, those stockers stand out too much on those nicely painted wheels, its the best $25.00 you can spend for sure. Next, paint the calipers and hats on the rotors, your eyes are drawn to the wheels so much, so you want that looking good as well. Not sure what color I'd go with on the calipers, maybe black because the wheels stand out so much and you don't want any other color buttin' in there, or silver. Paint work looks great:cool:
