"THE" Official 2010 Fall Dragon Run...Oct 7th thru 10th!

Hope your g/f is feeling better soon Eathen and yeah, get a good nights sleep before starting such a project. Are you doing this all by yourself? You should check with the dealership to see if they'll even work on your car with all those suspension mods.

Now onto something I was thinking about lately. Since we've got such a large group, I thought we could stagger our times to go and eat breakfast in the morning. This way, people aren't standing around waiting for a couple people to get ready, hence not to rush anyone and also, more importantly, we don't overwhelm the people at the restaraunt, they're not used to 20-30 people walking in at once. Once a group is done, we can hang out in the town and wait for everyone else....or, go and line up by the "Entering Cherahola Skyway" sign on 143. For you you noobs, we pass it on the way to the restaraunt. Everything is easy to find in town too, its right ontop of the hill (the restaraunt). The road the cabin is on is 360, the Skyway is 165/143 and the Dragon is ofcoarse 129. I know Joe and his g/f are staying in Lenore, about 10 miles or so N of us at the cabins, but he knows his way around down there, so he too will be at breakfast whenever.

"She's only seventeen"....day to go!

"Uhhhh, did you like, reference Winger in your countdown!"....your like a dork or something:crazy:

I am doing the clutch job myself ha, no one ever is around when i work on cars. Also she is feeling better thanks.

That is a good idea about staggering the times. It would be a challenge to get everyone ready at certain time, but then again we're no a trip that everyone lives to be at maybe they'll get up lol?
I still like the staggering idea though!

Well, there's plenty of parking in the town, so we're all set there. Everything is laid back, so we're good there. We could even park down by the sign too, the cops say nothing about that anyways, there used to it, trust me.

What do the rest of you guys think about this, I'd like to hear your input on this too. Just wanna make it as smooth as possible with our additional people this year, as well as what we were up against last year as well. I know everyone didn't wanna eat at the Tellica Cafe' every night and that's cool, we'll still go there for our Saturday night dinner for sure and maybe Thursday night as well. Friday we'll probably be eating in Robinsville, well, those who are doing the night run anyways. I'm sure there's enough people NOT doing the night run and are heading back towards Tellico Plains for you guys to find something that way. Again, this is where having the GPS comes into play and I'm sure someone in that group will indeed have one, so that group is all set. Its really pretty easy to get back to Tellico, its not like we take 4-5 roads to get back, more like 1, and that one has 2 different numbers depending what state your in. The Skyway is 165 in Tenn and 143 in N.C., easy!

I'm watching Hectour install this bracing and I must say, this kit is awesome, a quality piece and its made for the members of Protege' Garage, so its cheaper and has superior quality to boot. I wish I had something to upgrade on my car, but because its new and money has already been spent on the tires/wheels, I'm all set for right now but I see a kit like this getting installed on my car, if they end up making one, because there really isn't any more power coming out of that motor, I can tell you that:o Just like I said last year about the Focus, make the car handle and brake better than stock and that's what I'll be looking to do, well add to the looks a bit more as well. Carbon Fiber wrap for the hood, Honda sport grill and some other little "tweaks". If the brakes are not up to par after doing this run, I will be getting Hawk street pads, Goodridge SS lines and the ATE blue brake fluid and that should shore up the braking for sure:cool:

I can't say this enough, really looking forward to the good times with everyone and I mean EVERYONE this year:laugh:

Also seen in this pic is the HUGE, adjustable rear sway bar, its a monster! Look at that bracing, strong=no flex=CONFIDENCE!

More pics to come as its installed! The next piece will be replacing that triangular section mid-way down.

Its in Michigan and it could be had, I mean, its Michigan!

ATTN RANDY AND/OR BILLY!

I wonder what they are asking for it. If there is just one thing I hate about Supra's is that they are so overpriced. I mean, you can pick up a turbo 3S or 300ZX in good shape for way less, spend the same on mods and have just as fast and reliable car.

speaking of which, anybody want a 92 3000GT VR4, silver? it has ~112K miles on it and needs some love but it already has TDO5 headers (has a leak so they need to be welded/fixed) with 16G turbos, FMIC, and some other stuff.

Not sure if its actually for sale, but you know how the saying goes about that!

Hope you get that pump Dan, seems like you've figured out what's wrong with the car though!

BTW Dan, Icons cost money and those other cars just aren't in that league, especially when you consider what's under the hood of the Supra!

its only an icon because of Fast and the Furious though. same thing with FD RX7s and Skylines. dont get me wrong, all 3 are amazing cars, but all 3 also competed very closely with the 3S and 300ZX.

as for the pump, I need to also get an AFPR and fuel pressure gauge as well as double check the gap on the plugs. i think im at .032 right now so i might bring them all down to about .024 just to make sure its not an ignition issue before spending the money on all the fuel stuff (will go ahead and replace the filter though of course).

Last bar for the day, right near the tranny. Hectour would've completed the job and changed out the oil, but the kit was missing one of the bars (he got double the rear bar) and the main front bracing was missing pieces to mount it up. Everything will be here on Wednesday, so I'm sure Hectour will get the job done and post some pics to complete this install. I will say this though, we went for a little ride and even I could feel how flat this car is, should be one of "those cars" on the Skyway and Dragon for sure. Once the front is done, I can only imagine how its going to be!

Thanks for the installed pics Roger. Car feels great. It is an amazing transformation. I am looking forward to installing the other bars and feeling the difference.

Dillion, those look awesome! You must've known it was hunting season down there when we're going or something:laugh: I see they've got rechargable batteries too and if you want, you can use our outlet to charge them up whenever you want to. Seeing that you've got 2 of them you might be asked to borrow one out if someone forgets theirs.

I've also updated and straightened out the "who's going" list. It appears that Marges daughter isn't bringing her own Cougar or she's riding with her Mom. Did you guys check out the links to her pics over there, 3 wheelin' the Cougar:cool:

Vladamir Konstinov number of days to go!

I did a 3 step a week or two ago, but I wanna add a couple more to be on the safe side, not to mention it affects my drag coefficency=better mileage:shrug::laugh: As long as I've got the time and the weather holds up, I'll try and add atleast one more coat, it doesn't hurt as 1600 miles of driving in 4 days takes its toll on your ride, good thing we've got a great touch-free wash as well as a quarter wash right there in town at our disposal. DON'T FORGET YOUR WHEEL CLEANER, I CAN'T CUT MYSELF SHORT THIS YEAR:crazy:
