"THE" Official 2010 Fall Dragon Run...Oct 7th thru 10th!

Marge and/or Margarett, you guys still going? I know you got in early but we haven't heard anything from you guys in a while. It will be nice having an experienced SCCA driver out there with us. Anything new for the Cat(s)? Still running those chrome rims?

I think that would be cool as hell, do it Hectour! Not only an angled bar for the front passengers but for the rear passengers too!!

Hey Matt, which car are you bringing?

The passenger side CV joint came today. Monday I'll pull out the Impala toss the SVT in the garage and intall the following:
-Replace CVJ
-NPG Brake kit
-Stainless steel brake lines
-Possibly the Konis I have...just a little leery about intalling used struts.
-A set of gutted precat manifolds
-Fill NOS bottle

I heard about welding supports of some sort to the rear crossmember:shrug:. I'll have to look that up.

Fill NOS bottle:shrug:

You mean both of them right, the big ones:laugh:

Don't really think you'll be needing that out there but I must say, another Dragon Run first....first car with NOS!

Wait till you guys see my NOS bottle:o It says something about 5 hrs of energy with natrual ingredients....hmm, energy is HP! I'm going to have to go with the extra small bottle though:o

The bottles for me not the car. Its medical grade:crazy:.

I just bought some Energy Suspension rear control arm bushings.

Buying stuff is contagious! <--- Had to look up the spelling on that one :).

They are 80k tires with less than 50 on them. They will be fine. I'm getting cracked valve stem fixed tomorrow.

I really wish i had the money to go down there this year. :(

oh, and Roger, we drove about 1900 miles last week while on vacation. that included there and back (Louisville to Williamsburg), a trip to Richmond, trip to Virginia Beach, and a trip to D.C. The trip to DC was a really long day, didnt get back to the condo till almost 3am as we went to the Lady Gaga concert which didnt get out till 11:30 and then it was a mad rush to the Metro which closed at midnight.

Dan, you don't have to say anything about money, you had a very rough year last year and took a trip this past week with your girl, no problem at all. BTW, what kind of mileage did you get in the 3000?

You went to see Lady Gaga, how was that dude in concert anyways?

Dillion, glad you get what we're all saying about your car out there and trust us, you'll have a great time! Are you bringing anyone with you? Also, just because a tire is "rated" for 80k doesn't mean you can go that far. Even with proper rotations and balancing, I would never go right up to what it says I can go, once you get "kinda" close to those wearbars, its time to go shopping. Honestly, I wouldn't run those tires into the winter if they're over half worn out, just becareful.

Trey, can you put a smaller pulley on the car? Whatever you do or don't do to the car, we're just glad your going, I know you really need this trip right now and we're here to help you get as much out of it as possible!

Deion Sanders number of days to go!

Roger, it would be the second car with NOS. My buddy that came with the black Cougar that year had a 75 shot we put on two weeks before.

I averaged about 23 to 24 MPG on the highway doing about 70MPH. not bad for a 300HP, AWD, 4000lb behemoth. I did have the active aero turned off (spoiler down and the front air dam up) for the whole trip so i am curious how turning it on would affect the MPG. the Coefficient of drag is supposed to go down a touch with it on, but the spoiler does increase downforce so it may not change much.

as for Lady Gaga, SHE put on a good show (I dont think you would call her a dude after watching her perform in nothing but a bra and panties for 2 hours ). the only thing i didnt appreciate was the 40 minute wait listening to Michael Jacksons greatest hits between the opening act (semi precious weapons) and when she came out on stage. its not that i dont like MJ, its just that i can listen to his music at home for free.

A couple "little" suggestions if you don't mind:shrug: One, get ahold of this guy Vinnie at Motor City Vinyl and have him make you some custom, dommed centercap decals, those stockers stand out too much on those nicely painted wheels, its the best $25.00 you can spend for sure. Next, paint the calipers and hats on the rotors, your eyes are drawn to the wheels so much, so you want that looking good as well. Not sure what color I'd go with on the calipers, maybe black because the wheels stand out so much and you don't want any other color buttin' in there, or silver. Paint work looks great:cool:

Rotors will be changed this winter. Zinc plated so I don't get the high hat rust. The calipers are going to be a dark Baltic blue that almost looks black in most light. I actually love the center caps they match my lugs :D

Just set my tent up. It looks ghetto. I'll probably just buy a new one when i buy radios.

You guys keep worrying about my stuff so much, ur gonna make me buy new pads when mine are perfectly fine. haha.

The only modification I am planning to make to my car before the trip is to take the sub enclosure with the two 12" subs out of the trunk. I always do it for track days and there is a noticeable performance impact. The thing is well over 100 pounds. I think my brake pads are still good (will verify this Saturday) and I already use upgraded brake fluid because of the track days I do.

Dillion, upon further booth review, the call has been reversed.....ITS GOOD:laugh:

Bob, I bet you've got the only car at track events that doubles as a rolling concert hall. For you guys who don't know Bob, his CSVT is a world champion in the car stereo world (the way I phrased it tells you what I know about that stuff, huh:o) I just wanna hear Santana's "Europa" in there, can you hook a brother up Bob:shrug:

Dan, that's pretty good mileage indeed, you should've experimented with the Aero button, but when you do don't hit the eject button, its right near there, right?...or is it near the oil slick button...NO, its 3 down from the machine guns:crazy: I'll tell you what Dan, I borrow you 5 mpg, if you could spare 30 hp for me, deal:shrug:

Josh, I really hope you and the Daytona make it out with us next year for sure, your the Grand Marshall of our 9th annual Fall Dragon Run....we're never had a Grand Marshall before, yet another first!

Eathen, I see what your saying about your centercaps, I didn't mean to sound as if I were nit-picking, trust me, just brain storming, that's all. The car looks great and good luck with the oil pan and clutch install. Two S2000 will sound awesome down there, heck, how bout all that VTEC sound between you guys, Chris, Evan and myself....VTEC JUST KICKED IN YO:wizard:

Roger, my policy about doing demonstrations is this: just ask. :) I love giving demos and will do it for as long as anyone wants to listen. If there is anything in particular you want to hear, bring it with you (CD format) since I may not have it among the 40+ CDs I usually have with me. This offer goes for anyone else in the group too. The best time to do it for the best listening experience is when we are someplace quiet and in the shade or better still after dark. Also don't worry about getting less of an experience because I took the subs out of the trunk. Those were never on during judging or demos anyway. I have other subs in the car for that. ;)

I am bringing my Eagles CD! I have to hear Hotel California on an awesome sound system.
