"THE" Official 2010 Fall Dragon Run...Oct 7th thru 10th!

That's the first thing I thought Hector.........the cooler barely moves around in the backseat, haaa!

That just means the car corners VERY flat, I thought the cooler in the video was very annoying, why would someone go on that road with all that sheet in the back.

....and now for something completely different!
"If you fiiiiind that you don't like my waaaaaays, you caaaan, send it back in THIIIIRTY DAAAAAYS...TO GO!"

Gotcha, it corners very flat! Just kidding!! There is a lot of stuff in that car for sure!

Chris Osgood days to go!!! :)

Well took the Daytona for a "spin" around the neighborhood today. Almost had a wreck pulling out of the driveway. It jumped sideways and with no seats in the car yet my butt slid over against the tranny tunnel in turn making me apply more right foot to the gas pedal. Well I got my butt back over pretty quick and decided to ride out the burnout but save it from the ditch, so I shifted into second and mashed it. She straighted up and took off like a rocket. It was my first pull over 6k RPMs and it was sweet. So I did it again in third.

Thought id check in :D Car I hope is to be finished this week? Well you never know.. good news is, I just ordered my front tires. they are 215/40/17 Yokohama PARADA Spec-'s. So now I have the Toyo Proxies 4, for the rear ) 245/40/17, those are taken care of now. I ordered my wheels spacers last week, and they'll be here Wednesday. As I was typing this I just bought a new cltuch kit for the car. As I am not adding any horsepower to the car for awhile I thought it was only right to get a slightly over stock setup. I got a stock OEM pressure plate with a exedy disc, which are always over OEM spec. Of course the throw out bearing and pilot bearing are included too.

Lots to do.

Good job Eathen, too bad you don't have those Parada's out back too, those are supposed to be pretty good tires but I'm sure what you have will work out just fine. Your right too, you've got alot of work to do, but there's plenty of time to get done what you need to do, just take your time and do it right which I'm sure your going to do.

Hectour and I had a little "Dragon/Skyway tune-up" yesterday. Can't remember the name of the website but its something about great motorcycle roads in the U.S. We ended up driving well over 300 miles getting there and running the roads, both there and back. I'm sure he's going to put up some pics here too. We ended up in this little "twilight zone" town too and spotted a 31' Ford with 1965 Minnesota plates on it, completely rusted, talk about "Rat Rod". As far as the ride itself went, well, it was going really good until it started raining a bit, then we hit Starved Rock state park for some lunch and it was clearing up so went back out and found the other roads, some of the turns reminded me of the Dragon but they were very bumpy, so you couldn't get to crazy but they were fun nonetheless! The Fit felt pretty good in the turns but getting to each turn takes some time as the car doesn't have any power at all. One time the car felt a little light in the ass end, but then again I haven't really done any driving like this in the car at all, outside of a little 3 mile stretch of road by my work. Without a doubt, I'm the lead car in the photo group on Friday. This will let me get more used to the car and what it can and can't do without any pressure of having to keep up. Those cars with me, mostly noobs, will be able to see what the road is really all about at a comfortable pace for sure. As far as the Dragon goes, well, I think I'll be better there as its not about speed there as the road is so tight. Again, my group will be at a comfortable pace, so there isn't going to be any chance of "hot dogging". Once I'm out there I'll see what the car is REALLY all about though. I mean its light weight for sure, a little over 2600 lbs, but its got drums brakes out back and the front are only a bit over 10", compared to the 11"+ of the Mini, not to mention the suspension setup of the Mini was better. My car is narrow and sits higher, that too contributes to how it feels too. Hopefully the lowering of the car will cure that to a point, we'll see.

Mike Vernon number of days to go!

Shocks are in. Tint is almost done. Rear fog is in place.

Almost sounds like your building the batmoblie, smoke screen in place, rocket launchers activated, oil slick filled, eject button primed......

I might modify my exhaust by then, hoping to open up a few more ponies.

If Hector is Batman, Roger must be Robin.

Hey Matt, since you appear to be going with us, go on ahead and add yourself and your guest to our "who's going" list. I talked to Hectour and your staying with him and his Dad. Your addition will put our group to 22 cars before I get the final, complete list from my trip back home this weekend with the xceedspeeders, alumni and noobs alike. To quote the one guy from "Revenger of the Nerds"....'ITS GOING TO BE A GREAT YEAR!" 25 cars looks to be the number we'll have, not to mention those who are supposed to meet us out there.

Roger,

Have parked car make you the following graphics. I just noticed that your car is the same color as the "R" on Robin's outfit and almost like the color of his cape.
