Car was not running. Bought it with a blown engine in many pieces.
I did a port-matched swap. Used the 3L cams. Was my first 3L swap. From the time i bought the car till it was completed was about 3 weeks. Mostly waiting on parts. Swap went from smooth thanks to this site. I have since put about 6,000 trouble free miles. Car now has around 126k

-svt/non-svt: SVT
-3L year/miles: 2004 Sable 3L with 73,000 installed in SVT at 129,790 so engine has a little over 1100 miles
-running/not-running: running strong as ever

i guess i should add mine to this list.
98 e1 svt 165,000 when 3l installed
04 taurus engine with 75,000 when installed, escape cams
gutted pre cats, test pipe and stock exhaust.
it runs and pisses on my driveway .
it comes out this winter for a full gasket set minus the head gaskets. it'll get SVT cams if i can find some.

current miles is 215,xxx
 
i can update mine as well now.

Last 05 Taurus 3L blew, kinked PCV = crankcase pressure built and blew through the heads, lost valveseats and oil caked the ports until she gave way in September 2010.
so my update:

The engine block, trans case and z mount were all painted Ford blue. The valve covers and intake were all kept black and the timing cover was painted black as well. I will up load pics of the swap when I get more time. The motor has had 6,000 miles put on it after the swap and I could not ask for it to run any better... The car gets great MPG and has awesome response when it is needed. When at WOT in 1st the car dose have traction issues even if you are at a role on dry pavement. When the pavement is wet traction is a big issue in 1st and 2nd at 1/2 throttle or more....

Car now has 271,xxx and still running strong 17,xxx miles after the swap but could still benefit greatly with a tune (runs very rich when cold) 3l now has 93k on it(1/10/2013)

~276k miles car had the spec T/O fail was replaced with oem ford part
Also fixed the 3rd grind that was caused by shift fork fail. Shift fork & output shaft were replaced with used Oem parts & works great now & discovered after furthering my knowledge realized the car has a pre-98 diff as well

Has 03 Taurus 3.0L
Got the car with a 3.0 and got call new years eve 2010 20mins till ball drops and bro tells me he blew it. haha.
so didn't really get to choose my new years res. but I did put another one. lol
got car in 2009 and had other engine installed in 2011

Slightly Modded 03' 3.0L Portmatched, SVT Cams, MSDS Headers and Y-Pipe, Bassani exhaust w/ 4in tips, upgraded sway bar, short shift, K&N intake, BAT struts w/ Eibach springs, Chipped and tuned, HID's. And more to come
