2012 Fall Dragon Run thread-10th anniversary! (10-11/10-14-12)

Speaking of loud exhausts, wife talked me into keeping the Daytona. Probably try to add an oil cooler and some better tires before the Dragon run, I'll call in sick at least one day so I can make it up there. Cough Cough

Which wheels would you get, sand down and paint white for some Nitto NT01s?

I'd keep the FR500's, what are you thinking Josh!! Glad you've come down with something to make it out one day for the run, I think its called "Dragonitis" and BTW, your wife sounds like a keeper, is she coming out with you out there, we'd like to thank her!

I'd go for the 2nd set as well due to aiding in brake cooling with the 5 spokes, I like the first set of wheels though, those are the 10th anniversary SVT wheels, right?

Now as you guys know, SVOFANATIC has stepped in with helping set up an alternate location for people to stay but I would also like to pass along that there's now an option at the main location, its $10.00 a night if you crash in someones room on the floor, not saying you should do this but its an option and I will remind people along the way about this. Now SVO, how many people and where is your location for the lodging again?

It's Baskins Creek in Gatlinburg, TN just up the hill from pigeon forge where all the excitement is. You can have any where from 4-7 people depending and if anyone wants to crash on the floor or any couples it's $300 for two nights so be $60-$75 a personish lol

SVO, if you could, get a list going of the "for sure's" whom are coming out to Gatlinburg with you and I'll then add them to the master list over on xceedspeed, thanks man!

Its 100 more days as of today!

OMG! Its an awesome job for sure, wonder why the tire sidewalls are so high? I love the RS body kit too, this things really well done and it reminds me of the one the shop who installed my suspension into my old CSVT back in the day, they did these conversions for about $70k, turnkey. A basic Focus w/ a Mustang rearend and 302 was about $25k IIRC but that $70k conversion was a FSVT and full Cobra drivetrains and everything included, including tires and wheels. What a handful that would be on the Dragon!

98 more days to go!

Not enough time to read whole thread...who is going from W. Great Lakes, the EGL, or nearby. I'm in West Michigan and want to see who's driving down in case this works out. Anyone ever take a 69 Charger on the Dragon Run? Most likely I would take the PPG car...

Well from the Chicagoland area we've got 6 cars and from the Grand Rapids area we've got 2 cars, so you'd be able to hook up with them for sure. We're leaving at 2:30 a.m. our time and with a little planning on your crew's part, you'd be able to meet up with us on the freeway, we've done it before.

The place we're staying is booked up but you've got some choices there too, one is to bring an air mattress or sleeping bag and crash on the floor, cost for that is $10.00 a night or get with SVOFANATIC and see what he's setting up in nearby Gatlinburg, either way you've got somewhere to stay, you could even stay at our old location in Tellico Plains, its about 70 miles away but its 2 easy roads to get to where we're at, 2 great roads with epic views, the Cherahola Skyway route 165 on the Tenn side and 143 on the North Carolina side, then you come up to route 129 aka The Dragon and make a left turn and follow that part of 129 for about 10 miles until you see a huge dam on your right and you then make a right turn that seems to go straight up and from there, its on!

We'd love to have you out CJ, thought you sold off the CSVT's and bringing the famous PPG pace car to this run would be great, you could even use the lights at night time, trust me, it wouldn't be a problem and would help infact, LOL! Its so dark at night out there, its in the middle of the woods, only light comes from the moon and stars, its seriously dark and makes for a great night run....if your up to it:shrug:

91 one more days to go guys!
