Would you be willing to risk a huge portion of your salary cap incase no one takes him....remember, if they do franchise him, the team that takes him has to pay him that salary. Not sure if a lot of teams would be willing to pay that for a somewhat unproven player.

if they franchise him and trade him, the new team can work out a new deal, they dont have to pay him the franchise salary, rather they could come to a 5 year deal or something.

The Lions will go nowhere with the guy who Millen brought in and watched the train wreck all along and did nothing, great, something to look forward to in the spring! Hopefully Michigan gets it together so my football watching will not be a complete loss:rolleyes:
