"THE" Official 2010 Fall Dragon Run...Oct 7th thru 10th!

I missed the cookout that year, I think that was in 2004, WTH was I doing? We have our traditional dinner on Saturday night, you gotta try and make that Eric, it will be your first one, so you need to pull out a special hat for the occasion.

One week from today, I'll be "trying" to get bed right now, but it takes me forever to fall asleep the night before we leave.

Looks like we might be playing a little "switch-a-roo" because Jerry and his wife got the cabin with 2 beds, kinda of a waste and more expensive, so maybe just maybe, somebody with more people might be able to work something out with them, just a thought.

Did the trading of cabins last year. Worked then LOL

I am not even sure where you got this quote or who wrote it:

I wrote it originally... just trying to spur the discussion about where/when those of us from IL will meet with those of you coming down I-75 from MI. I have no idea what the plan is for that regarding place or time. I was making one possible suggestion, that your group stop for lunch somewhere and we'll try to catch up about the time you finish, but mostly just trying to spur the discussion about it.

Ok, Whats done:
-all 4 Konis are in
-NPG brake kit in (rears were a pain!)
-Braided brake lines in (rear were wrong but a 10mm union solved that.
-Cyro CVJ in
Still needs to be done:
-HID headlight kit
-Bleed brakes
-Fog light mod and 2500k bulbs
-Pick up CB found one on CL
-Repair leak at NOS box
-Fill bottle
-Gut and install exhaust manifolds
-Fab MIL eliminators
-Test car.

WOW, One week left!

1 week, oh gosh!

To do list:

Lower control arm will here here Friday. Just found out mine is ••••, I have one being shipped, ( used of course ) , My camber kit boot that I broke trying to adjust will be in, the company sent me a new one for free. SPC is a great company, I will buy a front kit too. After that I will keep my car clean and stuff. :D

-----------------------

Edit: 2:33 A.M Thursday - I just lifted the back to check all bushings and they're all good. So after I get the last two things in I believe I am good to go!

Gotcha, I swear I looked everywhere for it but I'll be damned if I could find it, haa! Thanks! I can't remember where or when we stopped last year as I was to overwhelmed from the excitement of going!!!! We (3 cars and 4 people) are heading out at 6am from Detroit, Google maps says it will take 5 hrs and 52 minutes to get to Lexington, so roughly noon. That looks like a good time since you guys are leaving Louisville at noon to come over to us and it may take you an hour or so! :D

1 week aka Ted Lindsay days to go!!!

Welcome our newest members (Nightwolf and Pokat302) to the "who's going list", CEG vets for sure!

The plan for IL member is this...we're meeting at the South Holland oasis at 5:30 a.m. (right off of I-80) We're going to gas up there and grab a quick bite to eat, its a time management thing. From there we're heading towards the breakfast stop that Dan has set up for us in Kentucky at "around " 11:30 a.m. EASTERN STANDARD TIME. I thought I posted this earlier but with everything going on, I guess I didn't. From there we'll continue to I-75 and meet up with the MI caravan and continue to the cabins.

I assume the MI caravan will make a breakfast/gas stop as well as a lunch stop, not sure where since I'm not with them but I'll be in contact with Derek along the way. Eathen from Muskegon will meet the IL group somewhere around Indy, but he's just going to put the addy in for the restaraunt in Kentucky.

Looks like there's alot of work going on with the cars and that's good, there's a little less than a week and judging by the lists you guys have put up, I don't see you guys not getting the job done, keep up the good work and it will pay off once you get down there, trust me. Anything tire/brake/suspension will REALLY pay off!

Again, welcome to our newest additions to the list, its good to see long time CEG-ers taking the plunge and making this run with us, plus, another well modded CSVT, they're starting to show up again, great news! Although we've got members from 2 other forums, this remains a CEG event and is only second to the mighty SZ for turnout and how long its been running, we're now in our 8th annual, looking forward to many, many more!

Dang OneSilverS2K, my prep list is just as long (if not longer) but nowhere near as cool. :( We had two S2000's come in to work today. One was a cop in uniform and the other was an awesome little old lady. She wanted her manual trans fluid exchanged but I was out of it. :( Her back tires were worn great; no squid stripes for her. ;)

Let's give our newest Slayer, Bonnie (BiggityBon) a warm welcome! She's a CEG vet for sure, check her sig and since she's local, she'll be coming by after work. She's good friends with Trey, Kristy (Polkat302) and Brad (Nightwolf). I talked her into it but her car, another Beetle, had new brakes done two monthes ago and they squeek when lightly applying the brakes, hard stops no sound at all. What do you guys think? I think she should run the Dragon and give them a "Dragon break in!"

Bonnie, you said you get off of work at 4:00 p.m. Not sure where we'll be on the Dragon at that time. If I had to guess, we'll be heading to dinner, location TBD but that night there's a night run for sure but not everyone's going. A portion of the group is heading back to the cabins after dinner, so I'd expect them back around 8-ish if I had to guess, we'll be arriving later than that, so keep the campfire going for us guys, I'm sure you'll be up!

I have to say this last minute stuff is cool because its a surprise! What else is a surprise is the showing of Contours again, not to mention the 2-door Contours as well. We've got 2 beetles and 2 AE86 Corolla's too, I think. Not to mention 2 S2000's, 2 newer Fits (GE8) and I think that's it for DOUBLE TROUBLE:laugh:

Pretty soon, we'll be putting up the HOUR COUNTER but right now, its 6 days to go:cool:

Looking forward to this!. Sway bar goes back on tomorrow along with the control arm as long as it comes in! Clutch pedal is where I like it too.

Kissing/ Rumping the car? :P
No. Changing of badges, etc. Painted the calipers.

Mechanical stuff done with the Dragon trip in mind: oil change, chassis bracing, rear sway bar, and new shocks in the rear. (mostly suspension LOL)

For next year: Full brake overhaul/upgrade and possibly a tune. :D

Yeah that tune with command your complete and full attention on the Dragon Hectour, even more than usual! The brake overhaul will help reign in that extra power, especially the SS lines.

My countdown shows Nick Lidstrom number of days to go!

Ok, so I was out on the Tail of the Dragon website last night, just poking around. I went to the events list and saw like the rest of you that we were not listed. I also noticed that 2 weeks after our trip, the TCCA will be there and they are listed with a link to their website discussion which was pretty small compared to ours. I also saw an e-mail link to submit events to the website. So I did.

I went out to the events list, and we are on it. :)
Unfortunately it says that we will be there on the 16th... :(

I'll reply back about the date...

So how many actual people are we going to have for lunch in Louisville? Im thinking i may get there a little early so that i can let them know how many of us are going to be there, since it is kind of a small place.
