Now remember, this is just the Caney Creek Village list and those who've made reservations or are bunking up with someone there, we've also got a couple of last minute guys and those staying right on the Tellico River, so as you can clearly see, the list is HUUUUGE! Not to mention the one or two guys from xceedspeed who really didn't want to register to another car forum which is fine, I understand that:cool:

Next Monday starts the single digit countdown;)

lots of people indeed, i hope there is enough room in the diner for breakfast for all of us.

im not adding the guy from the Locost forums to the list as he is entirely dependent on the weather as to whether or not he can make it. hopefully he'll be able to join us.

We'll be alright, hopefully we don't scare the locals, but this is THE place for breakfast and its only what, 4 miles away, perfect and perfect southern hospitality, just a part of what this run is all about!

Wait till they see us come in the Tellica Cafe' for our annual Saturday night dinner! I'm actually going to go up there and let them know Thursday night about what to expect so they know where coming and can join all the tables together for us:cool:

I LOVE THAT TOWN!

Aw I freaking love caterhams! That is definitely on the short list of cars I want to own one day. It's not that crazy. I've always been a big fan. I got a quick ride in a newer one back in Denver, farking sweet!

I am finally admitting there's no way I can go this year due to really rotten health problems.

I've had pneumonia all summer: slept 1/2 of June & July, spent 6 days in the hospital, and I'm still on oxygen & not allowed back to work at all, and they still haven't figured out why I got sick in the first place. Realizing I'd have to be well enough to leave in only 12 days has made me realize this year is just impossible.

I hope you all have a great time, take lots of pics, & post lots of stories afterward.

AND, you all have to go next year so I can see some of you again & meet the rest.

Sorry to hear. I got pneumonia in January. Pretty much wiped me out the whole month!:blackeye:

Who is going to Telico Plains from the south? Anybody interested in a caravan down there? Billy (4moshin) and I will be leaving central Florida on Thursday morning (no set time yet, we left here around 7am last year). We stopped by Ocala to pick up Chris and have breakfast at a really good bakery, then stopped in Atlanta to pick up Jason.

Anybody along the way interested in meeting up with me and Billy?

We're in the single digits now!

We're in the single digits now!

"Mr.Hockey" number of days to go!

Gulfcat, sorry to hear about your health and don't worry, we'll be there next year and I'm predicting right here, right now that we'll own the entire complex at Caney Creek Village next year, no doubt about it!

While I've got everyone's ear I just wanted to go over what we've got planned for which day, but if I haven't considered something here, please, chime in and let us know...

-Thursday...arrive around dinner time (5:00 p.m., give or take), get our rooms taken care of, unpack, chill, get something to eat and head out on the Cherahola Skyway for a little spin.

-Friday...have breakfast, head out on the Skyway and into the Dragon (stopping at Wheelers for our shirts and stuff) hang out down by the bridge, turn around and run it again and head towards Robinsville for a late lunch/dinner, whatever you wanna call it. While at dinner, figure out who wants to do the night run. Once we figure that out, the night group heads back out onto the Dragon to run it and hangout in the dark and just take it all in, the other group heads back to the cabins and gets the campfire going where we'll meet you once we get done driving in the dark out on the Dragon!

-Saturday...have breakfast, head out on the Skyway, then the Dragon and onto the Devil's Triangle. Find somewhere out there for lunch and start heading back. Once we get back, we head to the Tellica Cafe for our annual Saturday night dinner. Then back to the cabins for good times around the campfire.

-Sunday...have breakfast, say our good-byes and head home. I for one am planning on taking the "long way home", meaning, heading out on the Skyway, to the Dragon and from there following my GPS to get me back to I-75 N. I've taken Monday off, so I don't mind getting back home a bit later, but this doesn't mean everyone else has to do this, its just what I wanna do, one more taste of the road before we have to wait 361 more days to do it again:laugh:

I know this is a vacation and we're not on any set scedule, but we should try and be up and ready to go by 9:00 a.m on Friday and Saturday morning, especially Saturday as we're going to the Devil's Triangle and that's going to add time to our trip.

I'd like Trey to chime and let us know how far the Devil's Triangle is from the Dragon, this way we know what we're up against. Also, maybe we should get some address to something on the Devil's Triangle so those with a GPS could use it to find something if someone gets lost or astray:shrug:

We're gonna do our best to be up and ready as early as we can, but we won't be getting in until maybe 3-4am friday.

We appreciate the effort Alex, really we do and may I suggest a case of 5 hour energies:shrug::laugh: I don't want you guys to get a ticket getting down there Thursday evening either, ok! Being 39 I've done some long ass hauls here at work on 3-5 hours of sleep, so I think you guys will be alright. As long as the rest of the group doesn't mind waiting past 9:00 a.m. for you guys its alright with me:shrug:

I don't mind starting later on Friday so these guys can catch a few extra ZzZ's. I'll probably not sleep much anyway Thursday night, haha.

I am going to try to do some more scouting for the triangle this week/weekend cause i didnt make the entire loop. Distance is well frankly LONG this will be an all day deal for sat. I might not be able to make it out to meet up till friday afternoon/evening cause I am an idiot and forgot to ask for that friday off. I am going to put in for it anyway and see but idk for sure. I can however start my day as early as I want and bust ass to get out asap.

Keep us posted on your Friday situation Trey and thanks for checking out the Devils Triangle for us again. Not to put the pressure on you, but after you check it out completely, give us your honest assesment of the road and let us know if its even worth it in your opinion, we trust you:cool: If that road turns into an all day thing taking the Skyway and Dragon to get to it though, we really need to consider leaving the cabins pretty early, now what do you guys all think about that:confused:

I'm an early riser and very motivated for this type of thing and besides, we've never been out real early in the morning, it could be fun!

I am up for trying something new as long as it doesn't suck. If our local scout wastes our time on a pointless road, we will all throw rotten vegetables at him.....the pressure is on. Go scout the Devil's triangle!

I can't see ANY road having a nickname being stupid or boring. Unless it's named EPIC FAIL ROAD. These roads are in the Smokey Mountains. You can't go wrong, right???

glad you guys are up for accommodating us late comers.

Yeah, we're all about that and in your case getting the extra sleep you need, so we should expect you guys out of your cabins at what, 9:05 a.m.:troutslap: J/K, I think we can roll out around 10:00 a.m. but maybe the rest of us can hit the breakfast restaraunt before that and just come back to the cabins and get Alex and his crew once they get up. If they need some breakfast, well, there's the Hardee's right there on route 68:shrug:

8 days to go!

BTW, I changed out my plugs yesterday, so now I've got fresh tune, coolant and oil, along with all new brakes that were changed out in June and my tires that were new in the beginning of summer last year, so with using snow tires, my summers are still VERY fresh, I'm ready!!!

I'll say again - if for some reason the Devil's Triangle doesn't work out, I would still say a trip into NC via the Skyway would be a fun one. Didn't Icy say before some of the road was rough?

Google "Chimney Rock, NC" and or Lake Lure. Someone mentioned they had a Fairfield timeshare - our family had one as well at Lake Lure. Granted, I haven't been there in a long damn time (before I could legally drive) but I do remember some fantastic driving and sight-seeing.

Not to mention North Carolina is arguably better with their speed limits and such.

Hurry up 8 days... I'm getting antsy!!

Trey will make the call for us for sure and considering that a couple of us have run this particular road many times, a new one isn't such a bad idea:shrug: but don't get me wrong, you can NEVER get bored of the Skyway and Dragon though!

I guess the other thing we need to really know from Trey is how much time will it take to get there and is it best to take the Skyway and Dragon to get there? We wanna have enough time to do what we want AND get back to the cabins in time for our dinner too, we've done that in the past without worries and I'd like to keep it that way:cool:

Honestly, if it isn't all that I'm not too worried about it and we can just do what we usually do which has always been good:cool: I do think we should take a group shot at Bald River Falls, that road to get there is very cool, very cool indeed and the Falls are sweet, what does everyone think about that:confused:
