Sooooo maaannnnnyyyy CARS!

The guy with the Fiero hasn't added his name to the list because said he belongs to too many forums but rest assured he's made his reservation already at the cabins, so he's in and this car is pretty well modded and very nice!

Let's take a look at the combo or cars coming so far...turbo'd FWD, turbo'd AWD, V8 N/A AWD, V6 N/A FWD, I-4 N/A RWD, mid-eng N/A RWD and maybe a V8 N/A RWD:shrug: Our cars are about as diverse as our backgrounds, personalities, ethnicities and states....cars and driving, bringing people together for over a hundred years, what a wonderful world:cool:

"I'M EIGHTEEN, EIGHTEEN, EIGHTEEN DAYS AWAY AND I LIKE IT!"

You forgot to put a "no homo" at the end of this statement.

Less talk of bringing together.....more talk of manly car things please. :)

LOL. I put some more manly horns in place of the "meep meep" horns Mazda put in!

So the list is almost done. Changed the oil and trans fluid last weekend. Waxed the car on Friday. Getting the tires rotated and balanced tomorrow. Just need to pick up some supplies (quart of oil, AAA batteries) and I will be done.

I still have my meep meep horn :(

There is a guy who will meet up with us from Michigan. He responded to the thread over at xceedspeed.com. Here is what he said:

I am rollin out in the Nissan 240sx. It’s my track/auto-x car so I got to set it back to a mild alignment, but that’s no problem.

We have a reservation at the Tellico Lodge, but do you know the name of the by the shell station?

We are meeting some friends in Knoxville, TN on Wed. Sept 30. Then we will be heading out to Tellico on Thu. How do you think we can meet up in the mornings before the runs?

On Sunday we will just roll back to MI with you guys.

His name is Joe. AWESOME dude. He's no idiot. I've met him a few times already at some local Detroit car meets. It's going to be a good time.

Here's some "manly" talk...I'm going to be removing my plugs out of the hole they've been screwed into for almost 2 1/2 yrs:laugh:

Ken, thanks for the "copy and paste" of the guys response over from xceedspeed and I'm really glad the 240 is going, what a diverse group of cars we've got going!!!

"VLADY" NUMBER OF DAYS TO GO!

Should I?

Shouldn't I?

Should I?

I probably shouldn't... well, maybe....

drat!!

IF i decide to join up, I'll most likely stay up in Pigeon Forge at a timeshare I own at... can stay in a nice 1 bedroom condo (much better accommodations than a cabin without a bathroom or possibly without electricity... I'm too old for those adventures) for not a lot. Unfortunately, it is over an hour away from where you guys are staying, but if one of the days involves heading to Gatlinburg anyway...

Should I?

Shouldn't I?

are talking about the fairfield resort in Sevierville? If so my parents have a time share with Fairfield and we have been there a couple times.

FWIW, most of the cabins have bathrooms, heat/ac, electricity, and satellite TV:crazy:

No, it is a Bluegreen resort in Pigeon Forge.

FWIW, most of the cabins have bathrooms, heat/ac, electricity, and satellite TV:crazy:

I was basing my statement on the following in the Cabin Info thread on 9/4:

Just spoke to Dixie about 5 minutes ago and here's what we've got left...

1. economy cabin for $19.00 a night, no bathroom

2. make shift cabin with 2 queens and no electric (make shift lighting will be made available) this cabin is $10.00 a night, so you could in theory sleep 4 people there, talk about dirt cheap:shrug:

No exuses now, the cost is insanely cheap, bathrooms can be out in the woods for number 1 or knock on someones cabin door for number 2 (sorry to be so colorful, but well, you know!) The showers are available in other peoples cabins, just bring your own towels and your set guys!

Only 2 of the cabins have those "raw" creature discomforts, the others are fully stocked, like a house. Bob, you could probably stay with Hectour and his Dad, I'm sure they wouldn't mind and this way your with the group, although taking advantage and using the timeshare would be nice, something to think about. I say stay with us, but that's me. Hopefully your stereo doesn't weigh you down too much! For those who don't know, this guy Bob has the best car stereo EVER!, and is a national champ:cool:

Food for thought, next year!

Food for thought, next year!

A guy at work has a 1200 BMW bike and told me about this road he was reading about on a bike forum...

From 129 #285 to Pine Mountain (town) east on WAWOMAN Rd to Clayton, GA. 441 N to 64 (Murphy Hwy) 294 N towards Letita and then 68 N to Tellico. This WARWOMAN Rd is supposed to be awesome, anyone heard of it:confused:

Also, Bridal Veil Falls is supposed to be this waterwall that you drive under, that sounds VERY cool and a great photo opt:cool:

Please chime in on this is you've heard of it!

I'm looking forward to meeting Bob and seeing his system; I still love car stereo stuff even now that I'm an old man. Maybe you could even critique my current setup?

I need to wire in a relay for my remote turn-on. Seems that my Kenwood sExelon doesn't have enough current to turn on both my amps all the time - and it cuts out when I turn up the volume a bit. I hoping the relay will solve the issue. If not I may be in trouble for my driving tunes.

Speaking of which - Alice in Chains and Breaking Benjamin both have CDs coming out (I think) the 29th. Any other suggestions for driving tunes? Since I'm not bringing my girl, I am going to need some good musical entertainment.

As far as drives go - I'm all for North Carolina. The speed limits are higher, the taxes are lower, the people are friendlier. I know it's a hoof, but Asheville and Hendersonville has some gorgeous roads and areas. I know I'd be happy getting lost in either of the National Forests down that area along the Cherohala Skyway.
