'07 Carlisle All-Ford Nationals

BrApple -- I know a few of the SHO folks, having put way too much money into rebuilding the Opal Frost that I just sold. Very pretty car, though. There are some cool folks, but I know that some of the key players may not be attending Carlisle this year for one reason or another. From memory, Don Mallinson, president of the SHO club, had suggested that the SHO community sign in under their own club -- I believe they're working to up enrollment quite a bit this year. Hell, I thought last year was ok -- they had 8-10 cars :) . Clearly, the bar has been raised. We may be better off trying to make sure that we have enough Contour people. Besides, this will keep us from having to hear sarcastic comments like "only 2.5 liters, huh?, or what is this, an Escort?" :) I'll tell 'em right up front -- I sold my SHO and kept my SVT!

Too bad it turned out to be such a money pit.

It it what it is, right? Started to see the handwriting on the wall early on -- I wanted things to be really right, so I didn't cut corners. Before I knew it, I'd spent the ranch. A friend of mine summed it up one day when he said, "I admire you for having had the cojones to take it this far," before I'd even completed the list of stuff. Amen. The next owner will enjoy her. Meanwhile, I've got a room full of suspension, etc. parts about to go into the Contour. Its certainly easier to focus on one car, especially when you're sweating the details.
 
I almost forgot - I got the paper to reserve the club tent . It's gonna cost us $150 to reserve it , since we didn't make the 25 cars last year . We need to start figuring out how we want to fund this , so I can get the paper back to them . IF we make the 25 cars this year , the $$$ will be reimbursed - but we MUST pay the $150 up front if we want the tent ...
 
I'll send you $20 for now to help get the tent, I suppose more if needed ... I know how important the tent is ...
 
Yes , those who have been there year after year can attest - the tent is VERY important .
Donations will be taken (and greatly appreciated) to cover our tent cost , as I can't afford to pony-up the $$$ myself .
 
Allen, PM me an address and I can send a $$ order. Also, If I have 3 people coming, should all pitch in, or just me. Not tryin' to be cheap, as the tent is worth every penny. Just gotta plan out the finances.:laugh:
 
yep let me know where to send money also. im def coming just really lazy at getting to sign up. i do have an EZ up if you guys wanted me to bring along also. just a thought
 
I'll give 20 maybe 30 dollars....do you want it before....or I can give you the cash face to face.....cuz I'm lazy about mailing stuff :) haha
