What did you do to your Contour today?

Thought I fixed my taillight trunk leak yesterday... Dumped rain all day today... I was wrong... So today I glared at my contour.

Brought my '99 in to my mechanic to once again fix my fast idle/throttle hang. Last september, just as it was due for a reg renewal and smog check, it started doing this. Turned out to be a vacuum leak at the intake manifold. He changed the gaskets and injector O rings and the car ran great. Two weeks ago it started again and threw a CEL. It will be interesting to see what it turns out to be.

Was out of town the last 3 days and missed my SVT so when I got home, I started her up and went for a short drive... After I put my kids to bed of course, since I did in fact miss them more then my car! :-)

Yesterday, The gf and I drove 3 hours with the contour to pick some things up for work. Met some old friends in that town, visited with my family in a town on the way back before driving the rest of the way back. I was told to take the work credit card for the gas, when I did i treated the contour with Premium :-). Today, I hit 198k miles inching closer to 200k mark.

Lol love it! Snap a pic of the odometer at 200,000!

I wouldn't miss a picture of 200,000 for the world lol. It'll probably be In May, just in time to park it for the summer haha, my AC went out last August. My dad has the ac compressor just don't think I want to pay the labor to fix it.

Of course... Lol! I've done a compressor on a few cars and it really wasn't a bad job... But knowing the Countour, I'm sure it would be tough haha! I just had to have it "discharged" and "charged" professionally. And I probably could have just used a couple cans of those recharger kits but figured it was best done right by the pros.

My compressor pulley locked up- Im using the w/o ac belt haha- my dad got the compressor out of a car pretty easy by cutting the bumper and whatever else was In it's way out, on a wrecked contour at his yard. To do it the nice way would probably be a pain lol

New lower radiator hose, water pump, timing belt, timing belt tensioner, idler pulley, new alternator and battery, oil change and coolant flush and fill. Running good again except for the P0171, pretty sure I gave that 02 sensor a good soak in power steering fluid. Couldn't have been good.

Wowzers! That's a lot!!

202K and still running strong. Now to button up the Mystique that has been sitting in the garage, finish the projector retrofit and sell it.

When I did the alternator I put an overdrive pulley on it. Should be doing the AFPR and walboro fuel pump, might think about putting in some cams after that.
