I've been to the junkyard a lot lately. My brother picked up a 95 GL v6 5spd. I have a 96 GL zetec. I am jealous of the torque truth be told but the stripper GL zetecs are light and nimble. In any case, been having some option envy so I went to the junkyard and picked up and installed the following recently. Lighted vanity mirror visors, new power drivers seat, under hood light and switch, 96 mystique front lip spoiler, new fender well splash guards passenger side, new front under tray, picked up a switch from a CNG contour and wired it for my aftermarket fog lights (hate the red lighted switch, it's distracting on long hauls) new clip that holds the hood prop rod in place, new power mirror switch, drivers side rear view mirror fish eye (harbor freight), brand new headlights, new drivers tail light, new jack, new fuel filler cap and a front bumper license plate holder. I recently changed the oil, new air filter, new plugs and wires, rotated tires, replaced the check valve in the washer nozzle lines. Still looking for a drivers SE side skirt.. Haven't installed the trunk light or switch, alternator over drive pulley, walbro pump or FPR, I have a 99 SE trunk lid I want to install but someone misplace the center light, I'm getting close to where I want this car to be. I'll be painting and tinting it soon, new exhaust, thinking a zetec 4-2-1 header and high flow cat and muffler, new struts and suspension bits. I have money set aside for this. Can't wait to paint it. Nearing 200k, been a great car. Just washed it today, looks ghetto fabulous. Need to order new q clips for the roof rack.... Tons of mods/upgrades/options from contours and mystiques, some performance mods as we'll both suspension and engine wise. If it's broken, I fix it. I'm very OCD when it comes to my cars.
My brothers 95 has 125k on it. The heater only worked on high. Fixed that. Replaced the broken head rests, replaced the broken cluster surround with vents. Replaced drivers interior door handle and light (didn't know they came lighted) adjusted throttle cable, replaced rear seat belt, replaced inner trim on drivers a pillar, replaced license plate bulbs, replaced rear ash tray, replaced cracked trunk release handle trim, replaced drivers door seal, fixed dimmer switch, replaced clutch pedal cover, oil change and filter, fixed cup holder, installed rear seat grab handles w/hooks, replaced trunk lid struts, there's more but it escapes me at the moment. Still need to replace a noisy pulley and a broken headlight adjuster. Good little car. Paid $875, not bad for a solid running car. Don't like obd I though..
As you can see, been busy with the contours... Got my brother hooked. He'd been driving mine while I was away.
