What did you do to your Contour today?

I replaced camsaft sensor, crank sensor, IAC, Throttle Position Sensor checked for vaccum leaks replace dry rotted lines. It was a good day However it still idles at 2500 rpm. Looks like more work tommorow

Post back if you figure it out. My father's Cavalier does the same thing and we already replaced the IAC and TPS. Might be a similar/same problem.

pushed it... had my motor go from a light tap (which i thought was a pulley) to a knock to a squeal to a full blown hearing-my-engine-shred-itself-while-while-driving-then-shut-the-f**k-off in less than 15 minutes (9 miles) of drive time.... Motor had less than 1000 miles on the swap....

Removed the upper and lower intakes looking for a leak. At least it is easy. No blatent leaks found yet. On to fuel injectors and other stuff tommorow maybe.

Replaced drivers side sail panel, changed to a cougar shift knob, and replaced my power antenna with a mystique unit(antenna mast was broken). I went ahead a kept the longer chrome base to change it up a bit from the black base. Not sure if I want to keep it chrome or color match.

Yep I changed to the mystique base on my SE. I think it's a nice touch.

Over the past week I've done quite a bit. Installed fresh d2 suspension prt rear swaybar bushing set, , replaced old butchered trunk from previous owners fail at blacking out the reflector, replaced the taillights as well, replaced power antenna and base, and finished up my battery relocation setup.

I fixed the rear window defroster in the 99 mystique yesterday. it turned out to be something I never would have suspected I pulled the switch out of the dash. I found the wire harness plugged on the wrong side of it. changed that and bingo it works like a champ! I thought about that and that car had a recall on the dashboard at one time when mom had it, seems ford mechanics aren't infallible either!

Over the weekend (10/12/2013-10/13/2013) replaced factory rear struts (at 140k they were more or less just guide tubes at that point) and the trailing stabilizer bar (link from the bottom of the hub forward to the frame) bushings with Energy Suspension polyurethanes. Much improved ride (did the fronts about 2 months ago). T-Red 00 CSVT finally is a joy to drive again. Need to get the VW exhaust fabbed and registered to start restoration efforts on the SVT.

Changed out the alternator in my CSVT yesterday evening. I believe our Alternator R&R sticky needs updated with options as follows:

Modification: so your alternator dumped out, you can either follow this very nice how to by CSVT#49 OR burn the car and walk away...
