The "official" 2011 Fall Dragon Run thread...Oct 6th-9th

What color lugs you runnin'? You painting the calipers silver now?

Those look awesome!!! Doesn't even look like powdercoat, WOW!

THREE WEEKS FROM RIGHT NOW I'LL BE GETTING READY FOR THE RUN AND GETTING TO BED EARLY, NOT LIKE I CAN SLEEP, NEVER CAN THE NIGHT BEFORE THE TRIP DOWN THERE.

the stock lugs are chrome. i may paint them. any color suggestions?

the calipers are staying black. i dont really like calipers that stand out unless they are awesome (i.e. brembos or upgraded calipers)

I got a new battery today.

3 yr replacement warranty on car battery + Florida heat = new FREE battery every two years!

I would just leave them chrome then, or if they've got anodized silver, that would look nice! Speaking of nice is the weather we've had lately, a bit chilly this morning (42 degrees) but its only going to last till tomorrow and then its warming up back into the low 80's for the weekend here but I'll be down in Bowling Green Kentucky checking out the National Corvette museum.....finally!

Looks like Hectour has replaced Derek's MS3 with another one coming along for the run along with his buddy Ken and his Mazda 3 SP, here come the MAH-ZDA'S!!!!

Stepping outside this morning made me think of the Dragon right away and guess what..........

Barry Sanders number of days to go!

Stepping outside this morning made me think of the Dragon right away and guess what..........

I've been saying this every morning for the last couple days.

This cool weather reminds me of waking up in the morning down there and starting my car. That low deep rumble of the 3400. MMMMMMM

To bad now i got to listen to a raspy noisy ricer burner. :D

Since Derek hasn't come in here yet I might as well let you guys know that he can't make it this year due to his job, they're mandating OT and unless you've got money invested in your vacation, you have to cancel and work, good ol' government:rolleyes: He's not very happy about it but like he said, what can you do:shrug:

Its 22 Arcacia Avenue number of days to go, almost 3 weeks!!!

Sorry guys, have been really busy with OT at work plus I had a 3 day NG drill last weekend. Work has put us on mandatory 16 hours of OT possibly till the end of the year, so I can't make it to the Dragon. Sucks, as I was looking forward to the trip.....I see exhaust and rims in my future, haaa!

Rims look killer Randy!!

Randy your wheels look nice! I was thinking of coating mine. Maybe over the winter. If I don't sell it first. Found another car but thats another story.

Trans is back together and should be intalled over the weekend. The bad, some how my shifter end broke. Ordered one from Ford only to find out its the wrong one ERRRRRRR.

You are always possibly selling your car!

No, this time its real. After the Dragon it goes up or wait till spring. Right now I own 5 cars, if I buy another it'll 6. All titled, running, plated and insured. It's getting expensive. The Lighting will be first then the Tour.

Alright Matt, I take it the CSVT is the actual car your bringing then, right? I see you selling everything and having one "special" car that's made for the likes of the Dragon and one solid DD:shrug: I know you like your old cars too, so I wouldn't be surprised to see you get that gen I Camaro and Pro-Tour it! Remember, wrapping it in "matt"e vinyl runs about $2k, something to think about. I think a gen I wrapped in matte black with some 18" R's/17" F's would be awesome, just to get things rollin' here:laugh:

Dillon, I'm glad you've got the Miata/GA all taken care of, the extra car adds to our run and let's your Dad REALLY enjoy/take part in the run. Is he a car guy like you?

Tyler....what's up:shrug:

Randy, hurry up and get the tires on those wheels, I/we wanna see them on, they look really, really good!

Paul Hardcastle says its NINETEEN more days to go!

Well, I had my front bumper resprayed. I was thinking whether or not to tape it for the trip up there, but I've already found some new chips in it. I guess it's going to happen sooner or later.
I have done a couple of cosmetic stuff besides paint to the engine bay (if you can call this thing an engine ). Oil cap and STICKAAR!!!

there is an engine in there?

Roger, we will meet you at the museum tomorrow morning.

Cool Dan, I should be there about 10-10:30 a.m. your time, looking forward to it for sure, its the Mecca for me!

Billy, that oil cap is bad ass!!

Like usual, our run is growing towards the end and just to go over things again, a couple of us wanna head out early in the morning and since we've got so many vets out there, this shouldn't be a problem like it was in the past where noone knew where they were going, so just sayin'. I'm one of those looking to head out early so we'll be eating in the cabin in the morning and heading out by 8 a.m. or so but not later than 9 a.m. We'll be meeting at the usual spot at some time or another for our photoshoot and roll call.

The night run....who's in, add yourself to the list:
Also, we'll be hitting that awesome Mexican restaraunt near the intersection of 411 and 129 Friday night. This way we get a quality meal and kill some time waiting for the sun to go down!

Tyler....what's up:shrug:

My dad was like me, been in cars since high school. You name it, he's probably owned it. You and him would have more in common, so i'll let you talk to him. :D

Unfortunately i can't talk him into bringing the GA. If he want's to be along for the ride, i understand that. That's usually what your step dad does right? Maybe after this year he'll get a taste like i did and he'll go out and buy an RX-7. (he keeps talking about it like he wants to one up me...)

Tyler recently crashed his automatic 240, thankfully he managed to crash in his driveway. If he can't make it out of his own driveway without crashing, he's going to be a mess in a couple weeks. In better news, he added some pretty bright "fog lights" if you will, to his car. Basically just driving lights, and they're damn bright.

Everything seems to be good on this end, i might do a "test fit" to see what i can fit, or what all i CAN'T fit in the car. Mainly we're waiting to see when Jim is going to get done. Hopefully soon, i don't want to see a big purple truck on my bumper ever again.

Also adding us to the night run.

2. Hectour

Roder doger! I have a Gen 1 F body I'm looking at. Goint to be LS powered and with a few tweeks, but look totally stock besides wheels and brake. Thats the plan.
