The "official" 2011 Fall Dragon Run thread...Oct 6th-9th

ok so even tho i agressivley backed into my mom's suburban all is well, nothing a big hammer couldnt fix. tho i new tailight would be nice

so here she is this years dragon car for me and first s13 on this trip from my understanding. shes not the best looking or the best performing, but she dose work ask anybody that knows the car.

specs.

89 240sx s13 coupe.
org two tone
2g front end
SOHC ka24e rebuilt in 2005
apex dual n1 look alike catback exhaust. sounds amazing
powerd by max competion coilovers.
Falken tires
nissan factory option custom wheels
deep dish remvable steering wheel.

and a lame auto tragic trans - FML - that i cant drive

that about it. everything else is stock and in good working order. the frame was in very bad shape, but got rid of the bad stuff and welded in a whole new section, and its good to go. now for the pics

Car is just fine, love the wheels and we're glad your bringing it! I'm sure all the "essentials" are up to par, just make sure that trans fluid is up to the task, you'll be in 3rd gear alot on the Skyway to bring the car down to speed, trust me, everyone does it, I know I did with the Fit last year, 3rd and 4th gear with lots of RPM's coming down that hill, sounded real good with the intake/exhaust combo. I must say I'm looking forward to you and Dillon making the trip this year, with everything you two have been through leading up to this especially!!!

Had a good time down at the Corvette museum with Dan and Jesse this past weekend and to be honest with you guys, I almost drove to Tellico Plains after the tour there in Bowling Green but decided against it due to not knowing alot about the brakes on the Mazda 6 of my g/f and besides, didn't wanna do a "drive thru" of the area with my g/f either, she needs to see everything down there and one pass on the Skyway/Dragon isn't enough IMO.....BUT I DID STRUGGLE WITH IT THOUGH, AFTERALL WE WERE ONLY 4 HRS AWAY!

Kip Winger says its "ONLY SEVENTEEN" MORE DAYS TO GO:laugh:

Your working on it to make it better when you can, right, that's all that matters. All we care about is you enjoying the trip and being safe when doing it, that's it and even though there's going to be alot of hott cars out with us as usual, remember this, drive your own drive, there's NO PEER PRESSURE here, not the place for it and everyone here knows it, just keep that in mind. You don't have to make an excuses for your car either, your a a car guy like everyone else and honestly, some might say more than someone like me who doesn't turn a wrench even, just not into that, so take that for what its worth Tyler.

This is a good time to remind everyone to bring their 2-WAY RADIOS! CHANNEL 9 THIS YEAR!!
 
Close to finishing the trans install. Too bad I ordered the wrong shifter cable end, Doh.
It's sure nice working on a rust free car. All the hardware goes on with your fingers and just needs to be torqued down. :)

Spoke to Dixie today and here's the latest and "official" on the cabins, #1 and #3 are available. I'm rooming with Hectour and Matt since Derek can't make it, so I cancelled mine and told her what I was doing and its all good.

BB King has chimed in and sings its only "Sweet Sixteen" number of days to go!!!
 
So, yesterday was my anniversary, and my wonderful wife totally surprised me with a GoPro HD Hero!!! Woooot!! Can't wait to start filming!

GREAT! All Mah-zda owners with camera's, who's going to film my Honda this year like Eathen and Chad did and put it on YouTube LOL!

Suction cup and two 8 gig cards here. I just tried it out in my pool and it works great!

Maybe the "surprise" car/owner will have a GoPro, haven't heard alot of info on what that may be based on the clues but that's probably a good thing as he wants to surprise everyone there. If you didn't see this post by myself, go back a couple pages and check it out.

So Roger you remember the new Jag i was telling you about at lunch Saturday? 376HP, 332lb-ft TQ from a SC 3L V6 with an additional 95HP and 173TQ at the push of a button. It may just be what makes me forget about the Cayman S. :laugh:

That car is awesome but one thing bothers me about Jag nowadays, they've lost their way as far as tradition goes.......WHERE'S THE BRG ON THEIR CARS, MY GOD! I've been at the last couple big autoshows and not only is there NOT a BRG colored Jag anywhere to be found but NO green anywhere! Now, that concept Jag is awesome and that extra TQ at the touch of a button, well, it looks like the hybrids are starting to come into their own, first Porsche and now Jag and eventually the rest of the market. Too bad noone has a jump on the "sport hybrid" market yet for the masses:shrug:

Still trying to work out some electrical problems on the Cobra before it goes to dyno. Drove it about 70 miles over the weekend and it randomly dies when downshifting. Trying to troubleshoot it sucks but I did manage to take this pick while cruising around Saturday.
