Yeah, today is Dirty Harry's weapon of choice number of days to go!

Randy and Billy, the invite has been thrown out on the xceedspeed thread and I suggested that if they're serious they should come in here and let you guys know, so I'm trying to fill that cabin up and make the lodging situation go as smoothly for everyone concerned as possible. There is the guy with the WRX and his buddy and the guy from Canada (Terrh) too. Between you guys and Dennis, there's room for 3-4 more people, maybe up to 5-6 total betwen your large cabin and Dennis offering up a spot in his regular cabin. Now ofcoarse if something comes up on your end and someone contacts you guys and/or you guys have another person or persons looking to come up with you guys, fill it up and let me know and we'll find other arrangements,, don't want you guys waiting around incase something else comes up:cool:

The run is going to feel a bit different w/o Eathen and Chad, Ken and his bro and I think Joe isn't making it out this year either, he's been traveling alot this year, he even sent a pic from the Stelvio pass this summer! Either way, like always, some can't make it but there's always noobs and this year will probably be the highest count of noobs to ever make it out with us, although these arent' noobs to the Dragon, just noobs to our run, so that's a good thing:cool:

Anything new/upgraded from you guys:shrug:

im at the end of my rope. but i got last trick up my sleeve. so we shall see how it goes. im planing on starting tommrow after noon. so hears hoping i can pull it off.

edit: also day 2 of no smoking, im not bad or addicted by any means. always recreationale. but i have been smkoing alot recently (due to the recent amount of stress (im not going to tell my whole life story but its been ruff for me (may be around the campfire on the dragon ill tell it))) . so im going to see how long i can go. with out it.

edit #2 : also Roger, it was good to finally meet you the other day . sorry we couldnt stay and talk longer we were pretty tight on time. still good to talk with you while i could.

...don't forget the "ace in the hole", modded GA!

Yeah, if the miata dosn't blow up or die in the next month.

Having doubts about it now. It's just being real sketchy. If it blows up or dies on the dragon, i'm leaving it there.

Dying cars being left to die, well, this ride might have to make the trip then............

Imagine this thing on the Dragon and/or Skyway! I snapped this pic from a local cruize night last weekend!

Dillon, what's the problem with the car?

Tyler, glad to hear your not smoking anymore or atleast trying not to! I never really got into the whole smoking thing so I can't really speak to it other than this, your going to be more healthy and wealthy afterwards, sounds like a win win to me! It was good to meet you too and I can tell your a good guy, if you wanna talk about your problems around the campfire, go for it, noone is going to think your wierd or anything. We've got some older guys with alot of life experience as well as a professional in the field of dealing with people, if you feel up to it, speak up! This trip sounds like something your really, really need, so no matter what, make the trip!

thanks. ya thats the plan. i really could use some time away from all the BS thats going on here. the smoking thing. ya its bad for ya but i do enjoy it every once and awhile, but i can see how some one can get addicted real quick. so its best just fore me to take a break for awhile.

but enuff of me, lets get back to the dragon talk. as i said i got something in the works, im hoping it works out. if not looks like ill be in the GA, and if dillons car breaks down, well i guess im riding shotgun with jim, or maybe find a suport vehicle to whip lol.

Hey, I'm sure Jim wouldn't mind having someone ride shotgun with him, seeing that he doesn't have one right now. Can you handle riding with someone on a road like that Tyler? I know this, I could NEVER do it but that's because I've been driving for a living for so long now and besides that, I'm kinda of a wuss when it comes to things like this (no problem doing the driving part of it though, completely different!) So Tyler, when are we going to find out what your plan is and if it works or not?

I spoke about changing my oil and I went to Wal-Mart today and got a 5 quart jug of Mobil 1 0w20 for $25.82 before taxes, so I bought another one for my g/f's car, 0w30 Mobil 1, check this out, the breakdown per quart is $5.59 a quart, this compares to the $8.49 per quart at Autozone for the same product but in single quarts. I like to shop at AZ because they pay you to shop there and all, but I saved myself $30.00 buying the 2 jugs. My car is at 10% oil life left and my g/f's car needs an oil change in about 2k. I did have to go to PepBoys to buy the Royal Purple oil filter though, seeing that Wal-Mart doesn't carry those. I know this, the Fit oil doesn't look anything like the Mini's oil at the same mileage. Its at almost 9k right now and its still a nice dark bronze and I really need to have it tested to see if changing it out at 9k is too early, I bet it is, we'll see.....sooner or later.

Its KING RICHARD number of days to go!

My name is Marcello, and I was sent over to this site by Klasse Act on xceedspeed.com

I'm a latecomer to this year's Fall Dragon Run, due to my car taking much, much longer to complete than expected.

I was told that Randy and Billy have rented a large cabin and have room for a few more people. I'm in need for space for two people (Myself and a friend, Ashwin) Please PM me with more information.

Here's a bit of info about my ride...

I have a red (and other colors) 1995 Subaru Impreza 2.6RS-L (full swap, minus interior and exterior, from a 2001 2.5rs with a forged 2.6L 11.4:1 compression engine, coilovers, and most feel good mods) and I'll be starting it for the first time tomorrow.

Two old pics, but visually, the car is the same. (except lower)

I'm not sure what else you'd like to know, but feel free to ask! Oh, and we can help split the cost (of the cabin) even more, too!

Thanks!
Marcello

you are welcome to stay in our cabin. there is a sofabed available and plenty of room on the floor. pm me if you have any questions. we are driving up on Wednesday and leaving Sunday morning. feel free to stay whatever days you want. bring your own towels and sheets. we divide the cost and pay the owner in cash. i forgot the rate per night, but i think its around $70 per night. last year enough of us split the cabin and it was around $60-$70 a person for all four nights.

Welcome Thump but are you going to have enough time to get some "shakedown" miles on the car to make sure everything is on the up and up? Not trying to talk you out of the run or anything but the Skyway/Dragon/Hellbender aren't the place to break in a car, just sayin', don't wanna see anything bad happen to the Sooby! Splitting up the cost between 4 guys makes it REAL cheap for sure, good deal.

Also Thump, in addition to the "shakedown" run, how are the tires/brakes, those are THE MOST IMPORTANT mods to your ride while on the run, trust me/us!

Eathen and Tyler, how's the car?

Its Jackie Robinson number of days to go!

Dillon, how's the Miata?

Hahaha

Even better of a question.

I'll just say that, today after the miata pissed me off. I got in the grand am and had an epiphany.

We'll just say i really like the grand am right now.

What's the Miata doing or NOT doing?

Now, onto the news.......headlines!

ROGERS COUNTDOWN CALENDER WAS SET INCORRECTLY, ONE DAY ADDED FOR NO REASON AT ALL!

Yeah, like the headline says, when setting up the countdown almost a year ago I chose the wrong day to set its alarm, thus adding one additional day. Now I know some of you are coming up or down a day early, so for you guys, it was TWO DAYS, even worse but all is now corrected because I'd like to announce to everyone that we're in the thirties....

.38 Special number of days to go, so "Hold on loosely", and the run will be here before you know it. Don't forget to respect the surroundings down there as there's some "Wild eye'd southern boys" who live down there too. I mean, in 38 days we'll be "Back in Paradise"! Then there's the small group doing the night run, where we'll be "Rockin' into the night" which for someone lookin' to do this for the first time is "Right where you belong", no need for a "Teacher, teacher" at this point, you know how to handle your car. Maybe your bringing your "Fantasy Girl" with you on the trip, where your going to tackle some other curves at night instead, no problem.....GO FOR IT!

I've added/deleted the cabin thread reservation thread, so as of right now, its correct and updated. I didn't add Terrh to the list yet but I'm pretty sure he's coming down with us anyways. Counting Terrh and whatever he brings would bring our run to 16 cars as of right now but I'm waiting to hear from Dan w/ the 3000GTVR4 and Jason w/ the 3.0L blue CSVT. Josh with the recently completed Daytona coupe' has a new job and has to work the weekend we're going to be down there, hopefully our 10th anniversary run is blessed with him and his car's presence. I'm pretty sure Eric is going to show up in his "school bus" again since the AE86 isn't going to be ready in time. I didn't add Eric to the reservation list since he lives within driving distance to our run, so he's not staying anywhere but his own house. You guys know how this goes though, people show up at the last minute, always happens and when that happens, we'll have a better idea as to the grand total. I know there's 2 FF's who've reserved their cabins but there's one more that I'm not sure where they're staying, so the cabin list is what it is, Caney Creek people. I think our total right now is pretty good and if we get to 20,cool, if not, cool again.

In other news, fresh oil change is happening today, along with a trans fluid change, getting things ready. Next month I'll be getting a tire rotation, this way I can scare up the shoulders on the other two tires to have a matching set of scuffed up tires. Speaking of tires......HOW ARE YOURS? www.tires.com
