"THE" Official 2010 Fall Dragon Run...Oct 7th thru 10th!

Randy RPF1s are great wheels and would certainly be an excellent choice. Strong, light, good looking, and not too expensive. I'd also check out PF01s. They are new and fit all of the previously mentioned criteria but they aren't quite as popular. They look great IMO! Check 'em out.

I plan on rocking either/or at some point in my life.

I checked Enkei's website on the PF01s but they don't make them as wide as they make the RPF1s. I can go with 7.5"/9" wide Front/rear with the RPF1s, but only 7"/8.5" on the PF01s. I kinda would rather have the wider wheels.

Do you know of any good websites I can use to find wheels? I want the lightest 17's I can find for under $1000. I refuse to put wheels that cost over $500 a piece and take forever to get to me just because they are JDM.

I think 1010tires and tirerack are the only big ones that carry a wide selection of quality wheels.

I hear ya on PF01 sizes. I hadn't checked in a while but they were lacking in choices a few months ago when they came out because they're new. I figured that might be fixed by now. Oh well!

EDIT: Nevermind, 1010 even seems to be somewhat lacking now. If you're just looking for RPF1s you may try vivid racing, evasive, Z1 motorsports, Excelerate Performance. . . . . I dunno

I just spent the last couple of hours searching for light wheels for my S2000, and believe it or not the RPF1s are the lightest wheel under $500 a wheel.

Based on what I've read in the threads, there were a lot of bikes & the law on the Dragon. Moving the meet a few weeks later will see a substantial reduction in BOTH of those. I keep sayin' every year, but nobody listens...

well i was just on it Sunday (the 17th) and there was still tons of bikes and while i didnt see any THP on the Dragon itself they were out other places close by. just ask Trey about how much he hates state troopers and Chevy Aveos.

I am not an angry guy and it is probably just that you and I need to get to know each other a bit better. Let try to make that happen next dragon run. I meant to ask you about your car, but never got around to it. I also wante dto let you know that the picture you posted is bad ass and I want that gun.

Although I am not angry, I am bothered that Roger would tell me that my opinion about guns will not be tolerated, and that he would try to tell people that they can't bring guns to the dragon run. It just really rubbed me the wrong way. I am sorry you guys have had bad experiences with guns in the past and people getting CCW's too easily. All of the CCW folks I know are upright citizens and we need more people like them. Sorry if I came across as angry, I just don't like people telling/ordering me what to do, especially if it infringes on my rights.

Can't wait till the 2011 SAVE THE DRAMA FOR YO MAMA Dragon Run!

It's cool, and most of the CCW people I know are good guys too! Yes we should talk! I have been to the Dragon with you for 2 years now and don't know really a thing about you! :) Ask away on the car, I know most people don't know much about Saabs or why I modded one, ha! The SAW is pretty badass but it's Uncle Sam's weapon, so you gotta ask him nicely for it. By far my favorite weapon to shoot has been the HK G36 assault rifle. We crossed trained with the Germans in the Ukraine and that thing is bad ass!! I do like my M4 still, it served me well overseas!

Just a couple thoughts for next year, never ever too early to start:

-Trip to Cooter's Garage on Saturday morning, early leave time, not for everyone! Afterwards, lunch at Hard Rock Cafe' and then back to the Dragon to maybe meet up with some part of the group. Wake up, eat breakfast in the cabin and head out, cutting down waiting time. I noted this from this year and its true, so I'll take the advice of some and do it like this. Remember, this isn't for the entire group to do, just something I'm going to do, so if you wanna go, cool, if not, cool.

-Friday's run should consist of Skyway to the Dragon, cool down, head back up the Dragon and onto route 28 aka Moonshiners Road and check that road out for a good, long while. I've been on it from Robinsville to Deals Gap, so I'd like to see what else its got to offer.

Breakfast at the cabins seems to be a good idea. I would've pushed this more but I didn't want someone to think I was trying to do something on the cheap, gotta stop worry about what others say and just do it. The group size is now at a point where people will do what they wanna do, I'm sure SZ started out a certain way and now has become something different from its early days too. Grilling at night for dinner should be something we do too, its one way to get the group together to do something and who knows, we might even get a group shot this way too. I was dissapointed that we didnt' even get a group shot this year. These things are good to have down the road, trust me, you never know who can't make it out the following year or even worse, may never make it out again with the group for whatever reason.

Idea's welcome!

BTW, GM's first "big block" number of days to go....think W.

409? are you puching the date?

Young Matt, go back to 1958 for the answer, you only went to 1961. 1961 was also the first year for the SS option to appear on the full-size Chevrolet, even on a 6 cylinder, believe it or not:rolleyes: This isn't the first "official" BB, but many people consider it a BB when compared to the 265-283's of the day.

Yeah, I forgot the anaemic 348 came out first. Since were on the subject of big engines check this bad boy out...and yes it is a production block. I had a long talk with the owner at the Goodguys event.

Honesty is the best policy, no internet looking up (this keeps it more fun)

Since I used the first "unofficial" BB engine by GM for the number of days to go (348 first introduced in the 58' Chevies), how about this one for a number question"

"Smallest s/b put into a factory Corvette?"
