The 6th annual Fall Dragon Run thread!

I don't have the time off yet (I don't think that will be an issue) but I did call tonight to try to get a reservation. The woman who answered the phone said she was on the way to a funeral for her mother and unable to help me. She asked to call back tomorrow. I feel bad for her, I hate bothering people when they shouldn't be bothered! :cry:

Anyway, I'll get a reservation tomorrow. She did say they have a few cabins available that weekend. Tiger and Pete, I'll let you know what I get. I'm going to get enough space for an extra air mattress or two.

That sucks! She had mentioned her mom being sick when I made my reservation.

It might have been Dixies Mom but either way I'm going to send flowers to the funeral home. I left a message with them this morning and as long as someone gets back with me, I'm going to do this. I don't expect anyone to contribute, but if you'd like to just drop a couple dollars in my pocket when I get down there in a couple weeks. These are some quality people and they always make us feel at home, even giving up their cabin a couple years ago!


I will let you guys know if they called me back and that I was actually able to send flowers, we have a great florist right next door and the card with simply say something to the effect of "With our sympath, the Contour Enthusist Group"

Once you figure out what time you will be in Lexington Ky let me know. I suspect ill be heading down earlier than you will be passing through but you never know.

Edit: or if your going to come through Louisville let me know when and then we could meet up with the MI guys in Lexington.
 
Pete...GREAT NEWS! I'm picking JD up and leaving his house at 6:00 a.m. sharp, but I wish I could leave sooner (Hectour) Hectour and I have been talking about leaving at the same time and try and meet up where his freeway and I-75 merge together, forgot what the name of it is:confused: and the reason we're doing that is because the distance is about the same and with one breakfast stop, we should be really close to doing that. Now I will say this though, you really need to be at JD's before 6:00 a.m. becauise its about a 10.5 hr drive, but with a stop for gas/breakfast, closer to 11 hrs. I'm not saying your not on time but I'm very anal about the scedule and trust me, you wanna get there ASAP!

Everyone...I called and spoke to Dixie and yes, her Mom died and was laid out today and the funeral is tomorrow, in FLA, so the flowers wouldn't get there in time, but I told her we all felt bad for her and I passed along on condolances.
 
OK- I got cabin 4 which is two queen beds, and I'll bring my air mattress which is a double. She said the hot tub is broken so we'll have it at $69/night. Split that three ways and we're doing OK!

I'm confirming my vacation tomorrow, and then I'll be set.

FYI I didn't have to put down a card or anything. Did anyone else have to?

Roger- I don't mind giving you some money for flowers. I feel bad enough about calling her at this time but she wanted to make sure we got booked.
 
wow this is going to be a good turn out it seems. I am putting an almost completely new front end on my car so I will be handling right nicely I hope. new lcas, swaybar links wheels bearings struts strut mounts etc......

After talking to Roger, looks like the MI guys and I will be meeting somewhere outside Lexington on 75.After calculating some different routes I will be going from 65 to 64 to 75.:crazy: This is a little bit better timewise. It also means I will have to leave a half an hour earlier that the MI guys to meet up at the same time. :blackeye:

Dan, if you can find a good place off of 75 outside Lexington to meet up that would help too.:laugh:

thats most of what i've done to my car over the last 5k miles. it made a world of difference in the corners. reacts quicker and feels a lot more stable.
 
It looks like Hector, Pete and myself should be arriving at the Cabins around 5:00 p.m. or so. We plan on unpacking, getting a little bite to eat and then running half of the Cherahola and then going back to the cabins to relax:cool:


TWO WEEKS FROM TODAY!
