The 6th annual Fall Dragon Run thread!

I remember the guy from Wheelers telling us about a road that's got like 500 turns and is about an hour away from there, I wonder if that's it:shrug: Either way, we will make this happen next year and will have to add another day or two to the trip, something like get there Tuesday and come home Sunday, its never too early to start the planning, even though we haven't even run our run this year:laugh::laugh::laugh:

Just a reminder to the newbies..

Just a reminder to the newbies..

...we usually go to the Tellica Cafe for a good dinner when you get back from our days slaying and let me just say this, the food is great as so is the service. We also love this local restaraunt for breakfast, it just can't be beat...PERIOD!

30 DAYS TO GO!

This place seems so far away from both the Tail of the Dragon and Devils Triangle. I was looking at this place and it is right on the Dragon. http://www.tapocolodge.com/

What was the rationale behind picking a place so far out of the way? Are there other roads near caney creek village that we were gonna go on?

The Cherahola (sp?) skyway leads over to the dragon and is, IMHO, a much better driving road. little to no traffic, longer sweeping turns (3rd-4th gear) instead of tighter switchbacks (very rarely left 2nd) and lots of traffic and usually cops. not to mention, the skyway basically runs right along the top of a ridge line and makes for an awsome night drive back from the Dragon.

Edit: Man i wish i could go with you guys. Trey, are you going to stay at your house or at the Cabins with everyone else? If at your house, i might be able to go if you would be willing to let me stay at your place again.

Randy, Striker is 100% right! I know about the lodge your referring to and yes, its right there, but the Skyway run into the Dragon is awesome, trust me (us) If you guys do end up there, let us know so we can try and meet up someone along the way, would like to check out the cars and meet your crew:cool: One thing about where we stay though, about $160.00 for 3 nights!

I got cabin 8.

my plan is to drive up there Thursday. There was some mention earlier of doing some runs somewhere Friday afternoon. Could somebody lay out some plans for Friday through Sunday. What is going on?

I'm still working on mapping out a route down hellbender to make a killer loop back to the dragon. Depending on whenever everyone is getting in depends on the planning so everyone let me know when your arriving and everything.

You get down here man I'll have some food at the house so no worries in that area and I might even be able to help you with gas. Just come on down.

I leave Florida Thursday morning and will be getting to the cabins around dinner time. I will be ready to do whatever on Friday.

Yeah. The four of us will be at Caney Creek cabin #8

All the cabins have a "theme", mine is the second one from the end and is referred to as the "apple" cabin. BTW Randy, any pics and a list of the mods of your cars:shrug: Can't wait to go, should be the best one ever as we've got turbo'd FWD & AWD's, V8 RWD, AWD V6, N/A V6 FWD...am I missing anything:shrug::confused:

does anyone want a extra room guest. I dont want to get a cabin just for myself, so if anyone wants some cash for use of a couch or something let me know.

She referred to it as the "newlyweds" cabin.

My mods and tinkering so far has amounted to: Lingenfelter intake, Hi-Flow Test pipes, Magnaflow Catback exhaust, Hawk HP+ brake pads, ATE Super Blue Brake Fluid, Cags skipshift eliminator, Corvette Fuel Rail Covers, Auxilary connection, LED corner headlamp lights.

I am trying my best to keep the car stock by doing little things over a period of time. My next keep busy "mod" is Mobil 1 trans fluid. I am doing my best to fend off the mod bug. I would like to stop with the addition of a short throw shifter, dyno tune, and black powder coated wheels.

These are old pics, but here it goes.

Everyone else, are you ready?!?!
