.....the older shos remind me of a tempo to boxy for me
In the SHO community, we always referred to is as "The skateboard", as in:Something that really bothers me about the Gen 3 SHO's is that stupid rear spoiler. Someone should have gotten fired for that one.
3rd gear. nuff said.
I think my next project car will be a 94-95ish taurus sho 5 speed that has the 3.2 liter. I wonder if they made them with black interior
SHO's tend to lose 3rd gear, especially with heavily modded cars. It can be built up though.
Can this be explained?
3rd gear = Jesus gear.
Black leather was an option depending on the exterior color. All manual transmission SHO's came with a 3.0. Automatics came with a 3.2. But many people have swapped 3.2 engines into manual transmission cars. I like the blue SHO's with Cobra R replica wheels. My dream SHO would be a Turbocharged white 91 SHO plus like the one in this link.
Sweet dyno pull.
430hp/412/tq. It would take a fully built SVT Contour to run with this SHO.

if this is the car i'm thinking it is there's only one SVT that could even come close to keeping up with it and it still needs to be put together. IIRC that particular SHO belongs to tim tyner and is very close to running 11s in the quarter.

If you are talking 1/4 mile times, you are right. But from a roll, a lot of the 3.0L FI cars on this site will give a lot of those cars a run for their money....traction is our issue. It doesn't appear to be one with them. If a straight up 3.0L can run a low to mid 13 second 1/4 mile with a good driver, decent tires and axels that don't break....one would assume the FI should quicker.
