In need of some 3L info

I'm planning on having a Torsen installed. Not sure if i want to do it myself, or have someone else do it for me though. That's a tough call.

Either or, get one while you have the money or the time. And as for a 3L hybrid, i LOVE mine. Never had any motor problems, although i did blow out my diff. It really is EASY to do that. After my torsen, the only thing i need to worry about now is my stock clutch, it doesn't like 2nd gear burnouts. If you get into the tranny, at least do a spec 1 or something. You will regret not stepping up after you want to get a tune or throw nitrous on it:troutslap:. I don't think the hybrids 11:1 ratio does much compared to the stock 10:1. My 3L hybrid made 190WHP on a dyno with a nasty vacuum and a horrible exhaust. I am hoping for at least 200 with those fixed but haven't gotten around to dyno it again. And that is untuned, looking for at least 220 tuned.

The 2.5 UIM and LIM are just too restrictive to max out a 3.0. Hell, theyre too restrictive for a 2.5! Yes, even SVT specs.
A big bore LIM is probably adequate, but a full oval is the best power and the best $$$

Based on engine theory not real results, one of the best setups for these cars would be a 3L hybrid with very ported heads and maybe even 3L valves (although I believe I heard the 2.5L combustion chamber is too small to hold them) With this you retain the split port which will maximize output throughout the powerband and if ported will flow close to as much air as a full 3L. Also benefits from the higher compression, in theory this should be one of the best setups. It will also be the next engine I build when I have money

..or a 3L with 3L heads and domed pistons to raise compression.
