Right - that's why the consensus is shifting towards not mounting a skiplate. I won't be anyway, as my Mirko was annihilated because the skiplate caught a divot and ripped the splitter off.

thats a good point that i never thought of. i have a skidplate still sitting in my garage as well. i need to sell that thing asap! lol. yeah, i think it would cause the bottom edge of these "stevekos" (lol) to sag as well.

btw, i saw a few people tried to PM me but my inbox was full. i just went in and cleared out some room so go ahead and resend please :o

One of the reasons I can justfy selling my Mirko splitters (at a loss) to buy a couple of these is I won't have to spend money on skid plates.

And yes, that means I have two never-mounted Mirko splitters for sale... at a good price!

DT.

These being flexible is a good thing when comparing them to destroyed Mirkos. But will these hold up (not flex) with high speed down force? In other words, if I'm cruising at 150mph... will the lip maintain it's shape and position?

Cruising at 150mph?! I think you may be doing it wrong.

I AM curious about the same thing. Hard to tell without having the product in hand...

well, i doubt you'll be cruising any faster than pete in his supercharged vette. and he has duraflex stuff all over the place.

Lol, no man my car is nothing compared to this one...

He has our Duraflex front bumper/lip (which obviously isnt mounted in that pic) front fenders and rear bumper w/diffuser. The car runs high 6's at 200+ mph.

If mounted properly they will hold up fine, they are flexible, but still rigid at the same time.

I was told yesterday that we shoule be getting these in 3-4 weeks the good ones. That is an estimated date though, it varies by a good 1-2 weeks. However they should be on the way to us anyday now. It usually take 3 weeks or so on the slow boat :)

Lol not to hijack the thread but here is a finished pic of the Vette above with our duraflex parts..

Blem Batch - The First

Blem Batch - The First

Alright CEG'ers. Steve asked me to make a post with pics as I guess I'm the first person to order one of the blem batch splitters. I'm going to try to be objective as possible. Something to keep in mind is that I've only seen mirkos in pictures before, never in person.

PACKAGING

Let's get real. Some of you mother••••ers don't know how to ship parts (look of disapproval). I've had more than one instance where I receive a part, from a CEG'er on the classifieds, that is sticking out of a package because it wasn't protected properly.

Thankfully this was not the case with Extreme Dimension. The splitter arrived in a very large, very strong cardboard box. And the splitter was wrapped heavily in bubble wrap with clear packing tape securing everything. There was a clear plastic bag/liner as well I guess to prevent liquids or dust from damaging the product.

Unfortunately I had to unwrap and inspect the product before signing, so I don't have pics of it in that original state, but you can see evidence of the packaging in the pics below.

INITIAL IMPRESSIONS

I was very worried from the other pics that this product would be too flexible. Especially from the pic of "rain man" carrying the product. The splitter I have is not bendy like the one seen earlier in this thread. I have no clue why, but I held it in a similar fashion and it did not flex nearly as much. It should be noted however that the product I have is not brittle in the slightest - it does flex.

FITMENT

Overall I can see why this is a blem batch. There are some issues with the splitter fitting snugly to the bumper. I'm fairly confident that with a few body screws mating the splitter to the bumper that this shouldn't be too noticeable from 3 ft +. I can tell you right now, I can see the gap from about 5 ft.

The fitment certainly fits within the tolerances I was expecting. Again, having not seen an original mirko in person, I would take my assessment in this area with a grain of salt. I did take a number of pictures and a video so you can see for yourself.

SKID-PLATE

Understanding that the product isn't as flexible as I intended, I think you could mount a skid-plate without serious concerns of the product changing shape. The added strength might be nice as well as protecting the underside of the splitter. I'm personally considering using mine for aesthetic value.

Overall I'm happy with my purchase.

great review. thanks nasty!

btw, the pic where rain man was twisting the splitter was because he had it dug against the ground and was using force to twist it. just to show how much it could twist without breaking. this one is certainly not "bendy" and im positive that the one you have is exactly the same as mine.

does your bumper have those bumper "stays"? im just wondering because mine fit pretty good on the sides but my bumper does not have those. either way, the splitter is supposed to be screwed in from the back so that would hold it more snugly in place.

thanks for the pics and review though!

I don't have the bumper stays in. I haven't used the screws yet either. Like I said, I think once those are in you won't see gaps unless you are 3 ft or closer. Certainly good in my book for a "blem" batch.
