Guys; "to each his own"...
If the guy wants to ask 10,000 for it, let him do so without making fun of em on this forum bc I'm sure he's prolly a member here?
Here's a little story for those who laugh (which are prolly 16-23 years of age & have not fully matured yet) at this guys CL posting...
To start I'm 29 years old and have had 2 jobs since graduating HS in 98. 1st job I worked for an elevator company selling preventative maintenance. Started 1 month after graduating HS and within 3 months was making $40k a year and had a very nice company car with paid insurance, gas, maintenance, repairs, etc...
My 2nd job I started in 01 and am still currently working there. It was a "start up" company & we staff & place Engineers & Technical Professionals at mostly manufacturing & engineering services type companies. I sell our services via telephone & email & rarely see a client or candidate in person. To make it a little easier to understand, our 2 largest clients are Navistar/International Truck & Engine Company in Fort Wayne, IN and Cummins Engine Company in Columbus, IN. So my point of this is "I AM A TRUE SALESMAN" but I have had a passion for cars since I was in my early teens and my example is below...
6/6/08 I bought a 98 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS with 99k miles for $4,000. I put $500 in mostly maintenance/upgrades into her & on 1/9/09 sold the car after having it posted on CL for months for $7,000. In the months I had it posted I would get replies from younger immature kids who could not afford the car telling me in smart*** ways I was asking way too much & my cars a POS; I would read the emails, laugh & click delete. Six days after selling the RS, I bought an 01 Ford Explorer Sport Trac with 90k miles, from a dealer. It was a 1 owner with a folder of maintenance records and not 1 single dent, scratch, flaw, etc, not to mention it was loaded with every single option available in 01. The Ford dealer had it marked 6995 on the window. After driving it & checking it out for a night, came back the next day, told the internet salesman I want it & set $5,000 in hundred dollar bills on his desk and asked do we have a deal. He says hold on I have to check with my manager so I just asked him to bring his manager back with him. Once they were back in the office the manager said he'll do it for $5500, so I pulled out $300 more dollars & ended up buying her for $5300 which included sales tax (7% in IN) & drove her home with a 30 day paper plate. 2 days before the paper plate was to expire I sold the ST for $7500 and all I did was change the oil & replaced some bulbs.
Both of these vehicles I found AND sold on craigslist!!! That just goes to show you that there are people who will pay what you’re asking regardless of KBB value, etc as long as you have a clean & quality product.
Sorry to go off subject & the length of my reply but if it helps 1 person than I'm happy!!! If it offends anyone, I could care less!
MORAL of my reply is leave the guy alone & grow up!!!
