you could put hood risers before you do that, it's not that noticeable, a buddy of mine did it to his TL for a while to run some UIM spacers....

all hood risers are is thick spacers with longer bolts for the hood hinges...makes the back half of your hood stand an inch or so higher than the fender....

EXACTLY! And I thought all our hoods were mounted the same way... if so, then you don't even need spacers to gain a 1" lift on the hood rear.
