pic says it all

Should be nice most of the day Sunday... plus I am installing Dr.Cross's MSDS Headers, so feel free to swing by if you like...

shoot, I would but I am heading to Orange to have my alarm redone and my turbo timer installed. Then to Jess parents for a cook out and swim and them my parents for dinner.

I'll swing by monday before going to Marks Car show if I can.

O'man I just messed up my keyboard from frapping so hard at the pictures

Is that anything like fapping? Sounds like you need pointers.

knock on wood, the car ran great today. The wastegate bolts where alittle loose this morning so I tightened them down. I will check them in the morning to see if they came loose again. But over all the car drove great on the highway and around town.

Be fun to see it dyno at Carlisle. Imagine the looks. Sweet turbo Escort!

yeah I could do that although last year iirc the numbers where kinda low on the dyno they had ... but I don't think I will as its all still to new to do something like that so far from home. Luckly I feel confident it will make the trip with no issues as I drove it just about all day yesterday and it made the trip from my apartment to my parents without any issues or drama.

I reset the low and high speed fan turn on points, the low speed now comes on at 200 degrees and the high at 212. The coolant temp the whole day in the 80 degree heat was 202~204 and the oil temp stay right around 212~215. Ran great all day.

My stock oil temp is 210-212 cruising. Very nice for a turbo.

well I found out yesterday that if you get on it hard for a length of time the oil temp will go up of course .... went up to around 240.

well, I never had a oil temp gauge in the mustang, but both turbos were oil-cooled and I didn't have an oil-cooler. If I was a betting man, I would bet that I had oil temps up over 300 many times.

hmmmm, now why did I blow up 3 engines with that turbo setup........

I bet.

I think that I got the turbine housing up over 700 degrees on that pull as it was smoking after I got off the highway for a little. I think it was just the 700 degree red gasket maker I used on the up and down pipe at the turbo ...

just doing my semi-annual browse-through and saw this thread...

brian - I wanted to say congrats and well-done! that hard work is gonna pay lots of fun dividends for plenty of time to come (and the car looks siiiiick :))

no dyno sheets or other info as of this time.

I seem to have a problem with my dpfe sensor, the hoses don't want to stay on when I crank it up to 8 psi. I found out frinday morning that both hoses just dissappeared. I asl had the larger one poping off all weekend. Finally this morning it blew off and I believe took part of the plastic housing with it as I was getting on the highway.

other then that vs a 2.5 SVT turbo at 6 psi and a 3L with NPG LIM mod both had to use 4th gear to match me in 5th while putting it to the floor ...

i had a problem with that same sensor on friday also lol

well I have been fighting with some small issues recently. the big one is the dpfe sensor hoses are blowing off and I melted a plastic dpfe sensor. through data logging it was determine bank 1 was running lean. Also over the weekend I seemed to have a high idle.

So yesterday I ripped down teh intake and re-sealed the buzuiki plates to the heads with anerobic gasket maker. I checked all of the plugs and they looked really good. Possible they where running alittle hot and lean at wot, which is what the datalogging said. The gaps where slightly large so I adjusted that. Plug wires looked good, no signs of carbon tracking.

I got everything back together last night and after getting it running was datalogging. I found out my bank 2 O2 sensor isn't working right. It likes to read about .2 volts and not switch as it should. Being an original sensor I am going to replace it.

So on to some driving and data logging. the car was carzy last night. So I don't know if it was what I did or the relatively cooler weather from over the weekend but it was pulling very hard at 3psi. I turned it up to 8 psi after verifying that the A/F was sitting around 11.8 to 12.2 at wot. In 3rd it wanted to break tractions and was all over the place  running very strong. No signs of smoke out the exhuast that I noticed. However if did blow the larger dpfe hose off the egr tube. So I am hoping that its because I am running a cat, test pipe should be here tomorrow.

So hopefully everything is back on track.
