Today I got started on the latest build at PRT:
Chad (newsvt) now owns a 3L t-red I originally built for Philly. After some issues with his Escort it was time for a new daily. I had just gotten in this Silverfrost/MNB in from Blu_fuz, and I knew he was looking for one. After some discussion and explanation of my vision for the car it was decided that he would buy it, I would build it, and I was free to do as I please with the car and with that, project SVTetanus was born.
The name should come as no surprise after seeing the pictures of the car....there is no intention to do anything with the rust but make it worse. Embrace it for what it is: a car mechanically sound with a chassis rotting away that will last another 3 years at best. So lets give it a fun last ride. The car has some damage from what i assume was a mild fender-bender. The first job on the list today was to deal with an ill-fitting aftermarket fender and get a good look at the cars mechanics to start making a parts list.
Some simple build notes to get things started:
-First and foremost to inspect the car 100% and make sure she's ready to roll reliably.
-Heavy fender modification similar to what was done on the track car build. Quarter rust will make the rears interesting
-Simply put: Slammed
-"Hellaflush"ed on FSVT 5-spokes, or perhaps cobra replicas with a little stretch and fenders pulled to accommodate without poke.
-Rusted hood/roof & trunk
-Hounds-tooth fabric interior accents.
So sit back CEG and love it...or hate it...
