Today I got started on the latest build at PRT:

Chad (newsvt) now owns a 3L t-red I originally built for Philly. After some issues with his Escort it was time for a new daily. I had just gotten in this Silverfrost/MNB in from Blu_fuz, and I knew he was looking for one. After some discussion and explanation of my vision for the car it was decided that he would buy it, I would build it, and I was free to do as I please with the car and with that, project SVTetanus was born.

The name should come as no surprise after seeing the pictures of the car....there is no intention to do anything with the rust but make it worse. Embrace it for what it is: a car mechanically sound with a chassis rotting away that will last another 3 years at best. So lets give it a fun last ride. The car has some damage from what i assume was a mild fender-bender. The first job on the list today was to deal with an ill-fitting aftermarket fender and get a good look at the cars mechanics to start making a parts list.

Some simple build notes to get things started:
-First and foremost to inspect the car 100% and make sure she's ready to roll reliably.
-Heavy fender modification similar to what was done on the track car build. Quarter rust will make the rears interesting
-Simply put: Slammed
-"Hellaflush"ed on FSVT 5-spokes, or perhaps cobra replicas with a little stretch and fenders pulled to accommodate without poke.
-Rusted hood/roof & trunk
-Hounds-tooth fabric interior accents.

So sit back CEG and love it...or hate it... :D

A few overall pictures to get things started:

The aftermarket fender, more damage was found beneath that will be repaired after a trip to the salvage yard.

Once the car was in the air, it was time to get started. We pulled all the splash shields as they will no longer be used and hood liner because it's dumb and ugly and started on the frond end rework.

Now for a little taste of why this car is names as it is:

Rusty bolts mean things come of however they come off.

Now after all this work it was time to get started on having a little fun with this build. Out came a good OEM replacement fender and a stack of stickers. This is preliminary, the fender will be painted white after modification and the stickers reapplied without their white rectangular portions.

HAHAHAHAH! YES! Sticker bomb the headliner! You must be putting a pretty decent sized spacer on for the FSVTs, huh?

Headliner, rear deck, A,B & C pillars as well as the top of the door panels, will be done in hounds tooth fabric. A wheel/spacer decision hasn't been finalized. The actual stance will be one of the last things we sort out as Chad puts the build's funds together. This is a budget build no doubt, so FSVT's plus $300 in spacers may be just as costly as the cobra reps when it's said and done. Getting the exterior, interior and mechanics squared away are all relatively inexpensive things we can do in the mean time.

Currently on the hunt for fabric, a new header panel and green zip ties to match the dogfunk stickers.

If you're going to run a huge spacer anyways why not get a set of 4x100 or 5x114 adapters? Opens up a lot of new wheel options you wouldn't normally see on a contour.

also LOL @ thread title

ugh I wish you gave me a bit of heads up on the fabric, I could have sourced some sick •••• for you.

I think you need to acid wash the roof. mark the build as intentional..... but I love where this is going!

4-lug to 5-lug conversions get messy. I have some ideas though. And thanks!

We will be stripping and rusting the roof/hood and trunk. Shoot me a message about fabrics I haven't purchased anything yet...

WOOOOOO HOOOOOOO! Go get it Josh!

Never thought this car would be the inspiration for a built like this but it all makes sence now. Good luck man - I'll be watching .

PS. white SVTs kick ass and you are going to turn the entire car white with that lime green, it will be so cool.
