i love when i go to the store and people just stare at your car. you know they're jealous. i just felt like putting this post up in case this happens to other people too! its sweet.

I wouldn't necessarily call it jealousy...because, seriously, it's a Contour. However, I think it's because it's simply something they've never seen before.

That being said, I still find myself staring at one of the two SVTs in GF. Both black, one E0, one E1+. It's not that I'm jealous, it's that I never see one, so when I do, I just want to..."take it all in" so to speak. Nice cars either way. I'd like one, but I'm way to damn picky that I'll never find exactly the one I want. T-Red E0, sunroof, CD, no spoiler, mint condition.

I really wish little kids would stop buying SVTs. :nonono:

No one is jealous of your Ford Contour. Don't kid yourself.

You don't even have an SVT.... :blackeye:
thats funny

i don't think people are jealous at all... like alot of you guys said..they don't know what it is. you don't really see a whole lot of them around. i get it alot too, and i barely drive mine! i had taken mine up the street just to fill up on gas the other night, and i had this one guy looking inside of it. you'll find alot of curious people too. yea people do mistake them for escorts and taurus's...but if people would pay attention to detail they would know its a contour, but its a whole different animal, SVT powered!

as has been stated people just don't know what they are looking at.

at car shows people eiter walk right by my car and don't give it a second look. or they take a look and you can tell they are confused. and on the rare occation the person knows what they are looking at and sometimes is often excited about seeing one.

That sort of reminds of an old split back window vette we have up here. It was in a car show, I stopped to do a double take.

according to both profiles your the same age as him?? im only 24 and in no way do i consider myself a kid, i work hard for my money, live on my own, pay my own bills, and own my CSVT..

according to both profiles your the same age as him?? in fact, unless he was born in the last 15 days of the year, hes older than you:shrug: im only 24 and in no way do i consider myself a kid, i work hard for my money, live on my own, pay my own bills, and own my CSVT..

I was more or less commenting on the maturity level. I don't really care who is older or who has more financial obligations. I own my own home now, have multiple cars; does that make me any better? No. It's not a contest.

The forum is quickly turning into what seems like just a bunch of high school kids posting. But hey, that comes along with the current value of Contours/Mystiques.

i think you hit the nail on the head there. my car was valued at $1500 dollars by the state of massachusetts for tax purposes, less than my old 227,xxx mi 97 taurus. redfire550 still managed to squeeze about 5k out of me thou :)
