Hey everyone!

I have been doing a lot of searching lately through Google for websites that sell exterior/interior and performance parts for the Contour but i haven't really found a decent one.

I was wondering if anyone can help point me in the right direction or show me sites that you have used to purchase your car parts

Thanks!

what kind of parts are you looking for? The contour doesn't have a really big aftermarket, so in many cases you will have to go custom or modify something. Having a pre-98 limits your options even further, but you can still do plenty with them. Search for eggplant on here if you want a good example of what can be done with a pre-98.

Well right now im aiming more toward exterior/interior hook ups then gonna go for the performance after. Im not really looking for anything specific since i know the Contour doesnt have much

Forums and Ebay mainly... ebay actually has less and less each year....

what kind interior/exterior mods you looking to do? I have done a few already.

Well for exterior im looking to add a body kit, HIDS, neons, the usual and for interior im looking to change the dash with a new radio, maybe change the steering wheel and seats, add few more changes thats bout it

Body kits.... Ebay, Extreme dimensions, Andy's autosport.

HIDs, there are several places that sell retrofit kits. You will blind other drivers.

Neons are universal and can be bought lots of places. I have heard good things about oznium for neons and LED strips.

You can't legally change steering wheels in your car since it is equipped with an airbag. A radio can be bought anywhere. Seats can be bought tons of places. Just make them fit.

You are going to get flamed for what you want to do with your car.

If you don't know what you are looking for, you just have to keep searching until you find it. No one on here can direct you to parts unless they know what parts you are looking for.

Thanks a lot i appreciate your help. Yeah i know im going to get flamed but honestly it doesn't bother me since i bought this car to just hook up and have fun with it, its not my first car or even my main car that i use. Got a good deal off of it and thought hey why not have some fun plus im not very familiar with these types of cars since I'm used to driving an Audi and BMW. Ill take your advice and keep searching around, thank you for your help!

DDM tuning is where you should get your HID's. a lot of people here have HID's from them. They're cheap and work great without any problems. That's where i got mine.

You can get multi color LED underglow kits on ebay pretty cheap. They're easy to hook up and arent as easy to break as neons. (i hate underglow, but its your car)

I dont know why people say there isnt a big aftermarket for Contours. If you do your research, there are TONS of parts for them. Atleast it seems like it to me because my project car is a Tempo. Now that car does NOT have an aftermarket.

I deff will check them out, thanks! Too be honest i wouldn't know yet since i just got the car and im still doing research on it but give me a week and ill be up to date with most things about the contour.

As for the exterior, i'm a fan of subtle details. like instead of a big body kit, get SE side skirts and Mystique lips for the front and rear. Then throw on a set of lowering springs, nice rims, HID's, and either pre98 lip spoiler or CF trunk lid. In the end though, the only thing that matters is that you're happy. Not everyone is going to agree with all of your decisions. There are people that really dislike my car, then there are people that love it. You cant make everyone happy. Take blu_fuz's car for example (eggplant). While i think his car is the best looking pre98 around, i'm not a fan of some of his rim choices in the past, or the fact that he has an SVT kit on his car. I mean, who doesnt have an SVT kit on their car? I'm a fan of being different, doing something that no one else has really done, hence my Tempo project car, and my Mystique, rather than a Contour.

I completely agree with you thats why i said earlier that I dont mind the flaming or anything of that sort. Everyone has different personality's and everyone reflects that with whatever they do to there car. All im aiming to do is have fun with the car and turn into something different.

I think you will find plenty of parts in the Junk Yard for the Tempo's ;)

I was talking as far as aftermarket parts. But yea, there are quite a few Tempos in the Junk Yard. Only problem is that they're all 4 door's and, well, mine is a 2 door.

What a bunch of garbage. Might as well delete them.

If you do that....you are erasing 70% of the links and 50% of the outdated information still left in these sections.

But that would honestly lave us with No new posts to click on lol.

Yeah, I actually agree with you on this. At the time when I got my car I was trying to make mine everything SVT as I could afford starting with the body kit. It is honestly the only kit that looks good on a contour. The next best looking kit is the factory pre98 SE setup. Post98 SEs the headlights ruin the look and are overbearing. Rims are like underwear for me, gotta change them and often. I have owned over 23 sets of rims so I have had some choices to make. I hate tuner wheels but that's what I have on now. They will soon be switched over to the chrome focus svt wheels for simplicity and ease of cleaning........

Anyway - mod your car the way you want. Do tasteful, clean, and subtle mods or you will be doing it all over again. Welcome to the pre98 club, we are a rare breed.

My brother had a 2 door tempo 5-speed. Ran pretty good. He sold it when he moved to Florida. He used to pick up small blocks for his mustang and plop them in the Tempo's trunk...

What are you looking to do with the Tempo?? Turbo it? or just make it not look like a lil old lady car?

Yeah i have checked the SVT kit out and i also love how it looks especially for the Contour. Also WOW that's a lot of rims you went through lol but im not picky with rims as long as there clean, nice, and fit the car well. Thanks for your help, I am happy to be apart of the club ;]
