Trunk locked

idk how much play there is in the seat back latches but i would be tempted to try unbolting the bottom of the seats and see if you could reach in and then either pull the release handle for the seat backs or maybe, if you could reach far enough, the emergency trunk release handle (the glow in the dark one).

only 2k cars have the interior trunk release and don't have the switch that was mentioned before ... so that isnt going to work here...

well, he might still be able to get to the seat release lever and then he could get into the trunk. from there he should be able to flip the switch. of course, thats entirely dependent on being able to get enough play in the seat backs by unbolting the bottom of them.

I did the exact same thing a few month back, I have the same problems with my lock. It will only release with the trunk release in the front floorboard. Anyway, I was messing with the lock mechanism trying to see what was up with it and I flipped the RED LEVER:shocked:. If you can pull the top of the seatcorner back far enough and have someone with long thin arms to help (my wife) you can reach the seat release in the trunk. Large sub boxes complicate this process also.

your wife must have super small arms or you are superman! cause i thought i was just going to rip my seat off before i could get my arm in there:shrug:

anyone ever removed there back seat before without going in the trunk?

try removing your parcel shelf carpet ther is a large hole in the metal that you should be able to get to the seat release handle

note to self never touch red button......

Why don't you follow earlier advise and program another key fob to open? Very easy

If you don't know anybody that owns one do this:
  1. Find a likely Ford in parking lot and wait for owner to return.
  2. turn on your ignition and insert jumper into connector. chirp!
  3. have stranger press their remote. chirp!
  4. remove jumper
  5. turn off ignition. chirp!
  6. have stranger press trunk button on their fob
  7. trunk open!
maximum one minute time elapsed
thank stranger and flip that dang red lever back
then do programming above again with your key fob only. (sometimes nice strangers cannot be trusted) don't want somebody able to open your doors.
