Too hot!!!

...It's funny you mention Florida...

Florida isn't necessarily hotter than the northeast. Depends a lot on where you are in the state. Orlando, forget it. You'll cook. Marion county, too. But the Atlantic coast benefits from the effects of the Gulf Stream -- they help keep things warm in the winter, cooler in the summer. Miami, as such, has a record high of only 96. We've long since smoked that in the Boston area, with many triple digit occasions in my lifetime alone. Miami is humid from about June to September, though, in a way that we often aren't. In Florida, you don't get the occasional high pressure system to come in and blow everything out. It is humid every day in the summer.

That said, though, the weather that we had in PA this past weekend was more intense than what I generally experienced in Miami during the same time of year.

Waiting by the side of the road with Laura on the way home frome the Nationals gave me a great chance to work on my tan, though. It was great.

What happened on the way home from the Nationals?
(You're referring to the All-Ford Nationals? or last year Summer Nats?)

The All-Fords. One of my favorite events. I recommend it.

Well, the problem was a matter of some conjecture, but it appears that the fuel pump gave up the ghost on the way home. I had to leave the car about 300 miles away and drive a rental home. I've got an '03 Cavalier with PA plates. You're welcome to read the thread I started in the troubleshooting forum.

heh .. you caught me before the edit. I reread your post and realized which one..

That sucks! Sorry to hear. :(

It's the price I pay for living at home. Can't beat $100 a month though. If I had my own apartment, then I probably couldn't afford an air conditioner. Kind of a trade-off I guess.

meh...if you're offering to pay for the work to be done and even kick some extra her way for the electric bill, i don't see what the problem is...other than just being a dick about it.

I don't have any stance though... if I argue enough, then she'll kick me out. It's an inconvenience at most to not have AC... I'm young enough I have no problems regulating body temp. Besides, we get what, maybe 15-20 days a year where it's over 90? I can deal with that. And one place I work has AC, the other is a pool (lifeguard), so I can hang out in the water and watch people.

I'm disappointed and releaved all at the the same time. The thunderstorms missed us last night. There was some good lightening and a little rain before I went to sleep. But after the weather report said a change of large hail I started flipping out alittle. Didn't know if I needed to get somewhere with the SVT to get it under cover. Both jess and i moved our cars far away from trees right before it started raining because of the warnings of high wind.

But I am releaved that the heavy part of the storm missed enfield. I was watching the radar map and an openning in the leading line of heavy weather broke and it went around Enfield.

Part of a tree in the backyard came down right in front of Sandra and I. I had no idea the storm was starting and I was going outside with her to move my car out of the way for her to get by. We walked outside and it was crazy lightning and wind. All of a sudden I hear a bunch of loud cracks. I said "go, go go!" because I couldn't see in the dark what was coming down.

I'll take a few pictures when I get home from work.

The lightning and wind was awesome last night. I stood at the front door and watched it for a while.

I love this weather, I'm one with the heat even though it can be to much at times.

To think I will be on a cruise through Mexico next week, so it will be even hotter there. This is greatttttttt !!!!!!

I agree the lightning was amazing, lighting up the whole sky. I love watching the bolts of lightning. My parents down in Fairfield county CT lost power but I'm glad we didn't.

I love heat as well. It's the humidity that drives me insane. I'll take a hot dry summer day anytime!

Yes I agree, The humidity takes a toll on you and it feels so much hotter than it really is. It's sticky and disgusting. I don't like the humidity also and hopefully we won't have to many days with that or I will be in the AC

well, the A/C completely crapped out in my area of my office last night.
they have huge fans running in the server room right near my desk to keep it cool.
this sucks

well are pool is not refreshing anymore its was up to 89yesterday evening. so its like swiming it a gaint tub lol....

how were everyones thunder storms?? we had are trash barrow of cans thrown all over are back yard. the wind was crazyyyy along with the lightening.

Missed us mostly as well, I was disappointed. Lots of great lightning in the sky but barely any thunder, the strikes were all so far away. Tiny bit of wind that died after the lightning started, and a hint of rain. I was out on the porch watching it all.

lol you guys should of went just north of springfield. i was watching out my front door towards the north it it was lightening the wholeeeeee time like crazyyyy. i think they got hammerd

I was sleeping. I heard some of it at around midnight IIRC. The a/c drowned out most of the noise though.
Some of our cheapy plastic deck chairs were blown over.
