Thump from the Rear

I had the same problem when I started driving my stock 99 SVT this summer. New Ford sourced end links at 20,000 miles. Clunks going over speed bumps at 23,000.

I installed a set of "Stazi" links and no more problems. The Stazi links made a noticeable difference in handling - not huge, but noticeable on the 10 mile long the curvy blacktop road I live at the end of.

The car has just under 27,000 miles. At 28,000 miles I've been planning to stop driving it and put it back up for sale (greatly reduced price). 7,000 miles of summer driving have been kind on the car and I’ll not drive it in the winter regardless.

I hate to dig up this thread but i was about to order the energy suspension end links and bushings. I seen the bushings are only for 16 or 18mm. I need a 21mm set? And for the energy end links, are they universal for the 16mm 18mm and 21mm? I assume they are being that is the only one advertised.

If you need a 21 mm set you'll just have to order them as universal and then part out the other kit that comes with the endlink bushings and 18mm bushings.

Just wanted to close off this topic for future searchers. I changed my rear struts (one had a broken coil spring) and changed my sway bar links (both internals of them were shot). The "clunk" sound of a loose tool box back there is gone when potholes are encountered. I'd say sway bar links are probably the root cause, and it's fixed now.
