The "official" 2011 Fall Dragon Run thread...Oct 6th-9th

Four interested folks might be enough to get the t-shirt process started. I would like your ideas, but please try to keep it to one color, two max. Once I have a few ideas I will commission an artist to draw up some sketches. The t-shirt will be a hand drawn screen print on a nice t-shirt. This will not be some cheapo iron on deal.

I am thinking of doing something pretty simple and understated. The end result I am going for is something that looks cool and is more easily understood by people in the know or at least doesn't look too tourist/attraction t-shirt like.

My ideas so far:

1. A drawing of the tree of shame with random car and motorcycle parts hanging off of it. I really like this idea, because it should look cool on its own and only folks who know about the tree of shame would get it.

2. a black or white image of the curvy road sign below on a t-shirt

Let me know if you have any good ideas. Once we have a good idea picked out I will have some sketches made. Feel free to make your own drawing if you are artistically inclined. We could even use someone's own drawing as the shirt image.

$15 with something simple like:

Or what was posted above and i might buy one.

Just 'Cool Wall' uncool, or uncool for real?

Also,
1. Randy CSVT (1 shirt XL)
2. hectik1 (1 shirt XXL)
3. 4moshin (1 shirt XL)
Definitely Cool Wall un-cool. The wood ceiling is cool, and the SS is cool, but it's cock eyed like a fish.

For the shirt, I want to see an outline of the route. Like the Nurbergring decal that's just the track loop. Something simple that has people go wtf is that.

I like this. The Dragon route with maybe a 129 under it.

3. 4moshin (1 shirt XL)
4. Brent372 (1 shirt XL)
5. SVTFLEA (1 shirt XXL)
6. ChattaboogyAE ( 1 shirt S lol)

First off the answer to the question I asked a couple days ago....

98 DAYS TO GO, DOUBLE DIGIT DAYS NOW!

IMO the Dragon 129 idea is "been there, done that" and the sign idea got me thinking like this, the signs we've seen that are basically a U-turn with the mph showing 10 mph is more like it to me. Not only that but the Dragon 129 might have a trademark on it, not really sure but its not original and our group deserves something original, right?

Now as far as the 10th anniversary shirts go, well, that design should be simple, just like our decals are, infact the same thing IMO. Right now the "leader in the cllubhouse" is the gumball with the #10 and something like The CEG Fall Dragon Run on top and the years 2003-2012 on the bottom, that's it. I think it would be cool to get fitted t-shirts of a high quality, this way they last longer and if you do it right, wear them sparingly and they'd last a long time.

I'm watching the ideas for the shirts because honestly, I haven't bought a Dragon shirt in a couple years because the designs are boring now, been there, done that so the t-shirt idea is appealing to me, just wanna see the finished product. Thanks Randy for taking the initiative on this one for us!

I can't believe other people like my idea! It would be easier to pull off as a sticker of course. But a shirt wouldn't be too different. I'd get like 3 stickers though.

Like a black t-shirt with a white track outline or a white t-shirt with a black track outline. The only problem I see is that the tail of the dragon is only one squiggly line. It may be weird to have just one squiggly line on a shirt. What if we included all the roads we drive on? Like a course map of a typically friday drive: cabins, to skyway, to dragon, to 28.

even if i cant make it again this year I will buy the shirt. I will need to sort out the brakes and steering at the very least (new brakes and new rack) and im not sure im going to have the funds to do that in time. I suppose I could go and take it easy, of course that would still be faster than Rogers Fit in this car.

Randy you're exactly right. That's why stickers would be easier. I have a shirt with the whole loop already though. I forget where I got it though, Pumpkin Patch store I think....

I like the idea of the sticker, but my friend already has the screen printing equipment and experience. I eventually want to do my own screen printing and sticker making. The vinyl sticker cutting machine is a couple hundred dollars. I will eventually make stickers of just the track outline, but I don't want to buy the sticker machine just yet. It would be easier to start up with t-shirts.

Hey Dan, not sure what your car would really do on the Dragon compared to the Fit, I mean I could follow you out there at night time and we could see what happens:shrug: Wouldn't really wanna scrape up my front bumper but if I were to make a point doing it though it could be worth it, then get a Mugen front bumper and hang up my old, scrared up bumper in Hectour's garage explaining what I did to it, kinda like a kill, you know:crazy:

Speaking of that, 96 days to go and Happy 4th of July to everyone out there:cool:

Is this kind of what you guys want? I am thinking just an outline of the dragon as seen below on most of the front or back of the shirt

dragonmap3.jpg

I am thinking that a white shirt with this in red. If it goes on the back, I would center it and make it as large as possible. If it goes on the front, I would have it start around the upper right hand shoulder and work its way down.
