Interesting site for Corvettes I found

What do ya mean? It's stock.

OK, ok. The winner of the best stock muscle car goes to.....

Yes, the 2013 GT500 thats pushing more then 650+ HP!

What.

I'd like to see a drag race of that car, the ZL1 Vette I posted and couple others.....stock trim but drag radials.

"R&T took the 2,945-pound ZL1 and recorded 0-60-mph acceleration in 4.0 seconds, while the quarter-mile was over in a short 12.1 at 116 mph."

Thats pretty fast, but we won't know anything about the Stang for a while yet.

I would how ever take the GT-R over the Stang.

I agree!

I wonder what tires they used to get those times...certainly not the stock tires which are probably equivalent to a 225/70/15 and if that's the case, that's pretty damn fast IMO, the time and mph are in lock step for sure but I would've thought it would have more mph though. The only thing I can think of there is the gearing is pretty short in the rearend, maybe a 4.11 or 4.56. The engine is "RATED" at 430 hp but that's because the engines couldn't be "RATED" higer than that back then for insurance purposes. An L-88, a similar engine to the ZL-1 is said to be closer to 560 hp in the real world.

Oh yeah, I'd take the GT-R over the Stang too but I will say this current hp war between Chevy and Ford is very OLD SCHOOL, I like it!!! Oh yeah, Mopar is in there too with their 6.4L Hemi's also, I almost forgot about them too! Wait till the Viper re-joins the team and the C7 comes out, I see 700 hp cars being made right here.

Yep, its a chic car....I'll take one!

This commercial will never make it onto our TV:rolleyes:

As far as the car goes, well, its slated to make 11 more hp and 30 ft/lbs of torque than my car and in a car that weighs about 350 lbs less than mine would make it a hoot to drive for sure:cool:

The Abarth is a cool looking little car but does the chick in the commercial come with it?! I wanna hear her talk dirty to me in Italian!

Theres a certain black and gold GT350 that you left out that I prefer over the others. BTW, the 454 Chevelle doesnt stand a chance againt a 427 Fairlane or Cyclone.

Quoted for the truth!
I have always been an old ford guy but recently have been converted to Mopars. I own a 70 Roadrunner project car and my dad has a 440 4 speed 69 RR. I've seen it spank a 454 SS and its not even a 6 pack car. Lets not even talk about the Hemi cars. BB B-bodies rule all. I'll have to add some pics to this conversation later.

Ha! Wait till you have to do Mopar wiring. They made no electrical sense.

I smoked a 69' Coronet w/ a BB on Telegraph back in the day, Derek was my witness.....oh yeah, me, him and his then g/f smoked a 4-2-7 C3 too. The car of choice then, modded 87' GN, back when mid 12 sec street cars WEREN'T so common.

GN's were OK. The turbo car to have back in the day was the 89 Turbo Trans AM. Only like 1500 made. I had a 81 Riviera T type, couldn't hold a trans together. After the second trans I placed an add in the local newspaper (no internet yet) for $500.00. The same day it was posted a guy with a flatbed came and took it away. I remember the "bose" stereo...what a piece of crap.

And even then, the 5.0 LX 5spd Stang would eat up the heavier GNs all day long.

I remember as a kid, a friend of the family had a boy friend with a Regal T-type. (She's the first teenaged chic I ever saw completely naked :).) Any way, when he opened the hood I reached in to touch the Turbo after a ride nearly burned off a couple fingers. When we were done I stood in awe as he pulled the radio out of the dash (pull out radio) and removed his steering wheel (another thieft deterrent). You would see people walking aroud the mall with a radio in one hand and their steering wheel in the other.

Why we posting pictures of old junker domestic vehicles?

JK

Here's what i'm up to. Gonna attempt to strap this little nugget onto my car.

GT2560 I'd suggest keeping up with my project log in the near future. As i have no idea what i'm doing, so it could end in epic fail.

Well the benefit to you is that this has been done before. You will have a lot of examples of what to do and what not to do. With adding turbos (or superchargers) it all comes down to a proper fuel system and more importantly a proper tune. Research a lot!
