SVT #2219 Build Thread/ rejuvination

Left them that color and installed them last weekend. May change the color in the future but need to get other parts installed and working before I worry about redoing cosmetics. As for the braking power. WOW. I'm still getting used to easing into the brakes softer. Once the rear kit is installed it will brake with the best of them.

Finally got around to installing my rear 300mm PRT big brake kit. Wheels look a lot better with the BBK filling the gaps. Also pounder out the rear bumper mounting tabs more so I was able to drop the rear another 3/4". Looks much better now. Better pics to come this weekend.

I'm pretty set on my engine bay theme being bronze and flate or wrinkle black so I'm thinking about doing the same with the calipers and brackets. But keeping the brackets gloss black so it doesn't just look like they're covered with brake dust.
 
My son and I just purchased this car out of MD. Has 206k miles now, runs and drives fine had no issues on the 136mile trip home. Cruise and ac still work great.
 
I am the current owner of #2219 and have been since April of 2024. Currently have the engine and trans out of it. Getting an engine reseal and a new clutch kit. Also going to refresh bushings and brakes once the engine is back in. Will have to redo the rockers pretty directly as well. I love this car. I've loved it since my buddy Aonejeeparmy brought it home in 2022

How hard is it to pull the engine..I bought a t red one and I want to do a full sub frame swap..so basically leave everything one the cradle and just swap them from my red to my silver one
 
its probably easier to just pull everything from the bottom. i only say this because i just did a clutch in mine and the whole time i wished i had a lift. i would have done it that way instead of on jack stands. it was a massive pain to do this because everything was in the way and had no room to work. i had to remove the trans to replace my reverse gear shaft. although you might be able to get away with just removing the subframe by supporting the engine and radiator from the top. i've read in these forums that pulling the engine from the top is a chore.
 
I personally pulled my engine from the top with the guidance of Blacktop Crusiers YouTube video. I didn't want to deal with the subframe bolts. Wasn't hard to do at all on my own, just took some time
 
WWith my situation, I am trying to utilize everything that is on other car. The front brakes transmission axles. Front suspension engine? All of it so I figured the easiest plan of attack would just be to on bolt. All the engine mounts leave everything attached to the front subframe and drop everything down as a complete unit. Do the same to the other car Swap em out and have a easy way for all complete components.. Essentially, what I will be doing is taking everything from the theodore red contour that I have and swapping it over to the silver frost one I just got.. And then doing the same exact thing with my black one and the tropic green

Don’t forget to realign the subframe . Members on here years ago had the tool basically a pin that went into alignment holes . That tool probably is hard to find but other members did it without. Might have to do some digging on the old forums to get info .

I actually have subframe alignment pins
 
i dont have one, but i've removed mine several times in the last year. i hope this isnt another tool i need to have laying around for this car. i have fabricated a few tools already. although im sure it wont be the last time i lower my sub frame. my brand new TOB might be bad.😖
