ST24 goes 3.0L

Just an update:

The car gets Rolling Roaded this thursday, so hopefully the results will be worth all the effort. Just need to check the fuel pressure at the rail and swap over the ST220 coil and leads.

Front bumper has been resprayed with a slight modification, so all being well tomorrow the car will be fully complete except for the RR.

Needs a thorough clean and the engine cover fitted, but so far so good.

Ok all ready for the RR and unichip fitment tomorrow. Engines looking better now as the coil has been changed so the cover fits. Didn't have time to swap my blue samcos for black ones but will do that this weekend.

Good choice going with a set of black samcos instead of the blue. Final look is really good.

Ok, had an eventful day at Engine Tuners. After resolving a misfire issue the car dyno'd with the chip added at 247bhp, with 267nm. The unichip seemed to have a small fault which wouldn't let the final tweeking to be completed, so a new chip was advised. The new chip could release another 10bhp, but due to budget I've had to rain check the new chip.

Saying that, even though its potentially 10bhp down on what it could be, I'm well happy with 247, and now the chips added the car drives so smooth and just keeps pulling. 1st and 2nd gear are quite entertaining compared to when I had 170bhp with the 2.5 lump. :D

Heres a couple of pics:

The second pic also show another little mod to the front bumper to keep in with my 'smooth is better' theme.

So if hes talking crank figures, 267Nm converts to about 197lb-ft. Seems alot of torque was sacrificed for upper end hp.

What sort of power are your 3.0l putting out in comparison. The engine with a fully functional chip previously got 283nm. ( installed in the car I removed it from )
