Since it doesnt snow in FL, I figured that I should clean my car and take a small break from the turbo install.

Ive had some seat skins from a tan SVT for quite sometime and my driver's seat was destroyed so I decided to remove it.

Then I saw the carpet!!

Now onto the seat...

Took the seat apart and removed the old skin. YUK!!!!

It was a pain in the ass but I wanted to get it done as soon as possible so I dont forget how it goes. Its very complicated inside especially the driver's side.

Then I put the new skins on top and bottom.

After a smoke break, because of frustration of these little clips all inside the seat. I put it together.

Seat is now installed. Now just waiting to put the rocker panel and b-pillar back on for finished pics.

ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Roger,

Here are some more of the final product. I am pleased except for the wrinkle on the left side shoulder.

Thanks bro. Next im doing the other side. But just the carpet since the seat is ok for now.

You can get those carpets alot cleaner sam, look for the foaming carpet cleaner. That stuff is amazing.

Was it tough to pull the seat? My carpet could use a good shampooing but I'm too lazy to get down there and mess with the brackets.

Looks great Sam, but DAMN this is the SLOWEST turbo install ever. I bet Corky from Life goes on could have done it faster:laugh:

Wicked easy - six bolts and it's out. One more bolt if you want to remove the seat belt (it's easier to just leave the seat belt in and set the seat down close to the car).

The skinning and cleaning look great! I'm wondering, why did you choose to re-skin rather than just replace the seat?

I bought the skins only on ebay a few months ago and I figured I could finally get to changing them :)

That also answers your question Ryan. I buy things and then take forever to actually install them.

Ive had 2 alpine type r 12s brand new in the box with an alpine 1507 amp sitting in my room since I was 19 or 20. Im 26 now lol.

for floor mats what I do is mix a couple of different household cleaners together, then spray Wool-ite ALL over the floor met, let it settle into the floor mat for about 5 minutes, while its sitting I fill the bathtub with a little bit of water, mix the house hold cleaners into the bath tub, and throw the floor mat in there for about half hour to soak.

come back and scrub it a little bit every 5-10 minutes with a brush. When you pull the floor mat out of the water and let it drain, some of the nastiest water I have ever seen comes out those things, but the floor mat always comes out looking as good as new.

Carpeting in a car... I usually just use a whole can of wool-ite. and scrub the :censored::censored::censored::censored: out of it. If I have a steam/water cleaner around I use one of those as well. I miss cleaning my car :(

Good job Sam! A little time and some elbow grease go a LONG way!

I don't remember your car being that dirty...but then again that was a year ago!

that's why i do hate light colored interior. everything shows. MNB might not be the prettiest thing, but it hides the dirt LOL

Im thinking the new skin fits a little lose because the seat foam has been broken down a little bit

I think it looks great, did you have new hog rings and use the appropriate pliers?

I also have some skins just incase.
