Some Pics from the Race Shop

I can respect everyone’s opinion, positive or negative, about the Saleen. What I think would be tragic is if someone bought it and bastardized it beyond recognition, thus ruining a piece of CSVT history. Even though the Saleen is ten years old it doesn’t look dated. I mean, how many people were putting 19” wheels and six piston Brembos on their cars ten years ago. I bought the Saleen to keep that from happening and I think that any Blue Blooded Blue Oval CSVT owner like myself, would want the same.
I know that there are many CEG owners out there who have CSVT’s that could spank the Saleen, that is why I plan on building a supercharged engine that will give the car the respect it deserves. For me it’s not about speed, hey I’ve got plenty of things to fulfill my “need for speed”. Ya know, I can just get in that 911 Turbo if I want to prove my point………
The body kit on the Saleen reminds me of a Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM - German Touring Car Series) entrant ten years ago. I mean, don’t tell me that those cars aren’t bad a$$. It just needs a few diveplanes and a bigger splitter to look more authentic. Check out the pics and you be the judge.

any idea on the tire size? also, just out of curiosity, how comfortable are the seats? seems like you have a lot of different cars to drive, or have driven, so how do they compare to full on race seats, and to high end luxury seats?

i have to say that anyone who doesn't like the saleen svt is crazy...and should be medicated...its the most unique svt ever. and i bet it would beat a 3l svt. doesn't that thing have around 240hp?? i love the wheels, what a great looking car.

no, it has a standard CSVT engine in it. They originally had it supercharged, but they kept blowing motors.

The seats are nice and comfortable which you need with the tight feel of the wheels, tires, and suspension. I was surprised when I saw that they had a cooling fan.

FGM,

DTM FTW!

I have been thinking DTM since you first posted the race shop pics. The debate got so crazy, on so many levels, I thought I would sit out. Your last post made me realize what I was thinking all along.
Your Saleen is automotive art, inspired by the DTM cars, not everyone will see its beauty. I enjoy the touring car look. Truly unique and one of a kind. Glad that you intend to preserve it. Thanks for sharing the shop pics.

Too all the haters... All though my post count doesn't reflect it, I'm a way old school member. I was on here when these things were brand new and parts didn't exist.. and people were spending over 20K on the car.. then several thousand in mods.

The saleen might not be your thing... BUT, it's a one of a kind. You say people wouldn't even notice or know what it was. Well, this is true about many cars out there.. especially rare ones. To me, the fact that it was tested but never made production makes it even better of a buy! You can do what you like to your cars and surely make them over all better... But what you do in your crappy garage with your unpopular hands will never compare to this. While I might drop my jaw with something you can do to a car... I won't ever consider it a piece of history like I do this car.

I remember seeing a few crappy quality pics of this car and making it my wallpaper for months!

Imagine having a corvette that chevy designed, tested, but the engine couldn't hold up.. so the ONE car they had sat around in a warehouse and you got your hands on it... Granted a corvette is a MUCH more popular car than our CSVT.. but you get the idea.

Some people just don't get it............................

And it's annoying that people don't have respect for this guy. It's one thing to say you don't dig the car... it's another to come across as a class A snatch bag.

I am very very happy that the car has gone to two people who appreciate it. And when did I say I don't have nay respect for this guy?

Also, I thought Saleen wasn't a part of Ford...it is just a company that modifies them. So, it wouldn't be like chevy testing and designing them....it would be like another company testing them and throwing a body kit on. It would be more like if NPG built a turbo'ed car with a body kit.

HE WAS MAKING AN EXAMPLE!! YOU ARE NOT GETTING IT! SO LET IT GO! :help:

But that is part of the point...at least to me! IF it was an IN HOUSE Ford project, I think it would be a larger piece of history! Like my example stated, if Joey decided to make a one of one CSVT, would it be held up to the status of this car? Everyone makes fun of the Pace Cars on here.....too much money for what they are....but they are exactly the same thing as this.

Joey? Nobody knows joey but ceg'rs:shrug:

Saleen is a licensed car manufacturer who has a long historical relevance to racing in car history! Stop making stupid comparisons!

NO part made by edlecbrock will be worth something in comparisosn. No car sponsored or modified by edelbrock WILL NEVER BE A LICENSED CAR MANUFACTURER!!!BECAUSE THEY ARE A PARTS COMPANY, LIKE JOEY OR PUD>..or who ever the fug you keep mentioning!:nonono:
So you are left with the idea (hopefully) that concept cars manufactured by FAMOUS LICENSED COMPANIES WILL BE HELD TO A DIFFERENT STANDARD!

obviously your not getting it....even my foreign arse can absorb the idea.:help:

i honestly don't care about your fight there guys, or who's correct, but reading the last page, harrry your just a know it all and YOU are the one that always has to be right! it gets annoying. :p

Ok, how about this, let's just pretend that jay said Lingenfelter instead of Chevy. that's about the best example I can think of, Saleen with Ford, mostly known for mustangs, Lingenfelter with Chevy, mostly known for Corvettes. Honestly, the argument is kinda like a pissing contest in a tornado, but for some reason, it just sucked me in.
On that note, I kinda wonder a Lingenfelter Cavalier would have been like...
