Some Pics from the Race Shop

I guess there is some intrest about this car on the saleen forum.
I guess the new owner wants the scope about this car?
CSVTFGM are they referring to you?
http://saleenforums.soec.org/showthread.php?t=3125

He was referring to me. I had talked to the guy from the Saleen boards as he was around when the car was being built. We were looking for some pictures and information from inside Saleen as he wanted me to write an article about it for the SOEC but I never got around to it.

There was a rumor that they were also working on a T-Green version of the car but that proved to be false.

that saleen is a riced out POS and is slow on top of it. sorry. all the CF interior parts should go into the SF, and the saleen tour' should be driven over at the next monster jam. the yellow car can stay :P nice shop. i dont understand why you like contours it looks like you have a real shop lol

you saw that?

Guess I need to set the record straight.

First, I know some of you think the Saleen is some Riced -up POS. I consider the Saleen a valuable piece of CSVT history. How many other aftermarket tuners have stepped up to build a specialty CSVT.............none. The Bondurant cars and the PPG cars were built for one purpose only, and were not intended for public sale.

I first saw the Bondurant cars back in 2002 when I was test driving the 2003 Cobra Mustang pre-production test mules (no vin #) at Bondurant's facility. I inquired about the possibility of buying one when they were replaced. I was told that they were to be returned to Ford to be crushed. I think we are fortunate that it didn't happen so that we could preserve these historic cars.

Second, for all of the doubters out there, there will be a very massaged AND supercharged engine put in the car. This should resolve the performance issues.

Third, a TCE rear brake kit will be installed to balance the Six Piston Brembos on the front.

I'll try to get some detailed pictures out soon. I hope that answers some of the questions.

No worries FGM, jealousy abounds

my statement was not an expression of jealousy. incase you didnt know, the saleen contour was availible to anyone that wanted to buy it, for a ridiculously high price. most everyone passed on it.

you may consider it a piece of contour history, and i respect that you are trying to preserve it. however, the real "history" in my eyes, lies in the first contours ever built that were raced and are still around today. those cars are pieces to restore and enjoy IMO. the bondurant cars IMO, are an awesome start to building a crazy track/street car. and i have heard that the guys that got them, got a great deal. if i had one, i would go balls out on it for sure. the saleen car....i'd just leave that thing right where it sits and dust it off every few days.

It's obvious jealousy. And peopel who say it's ugly must not like saleen cars to begin with, since the body kit shares all of it's styling cues with other saleen cars. Enough so that a laymen would look at it and say "saleen" without seeing the stickers. Oh well, it's hot anyway.

Never liked the kit, but I love that it's a one off and would have bought it as a show car.
