I asked him if it is mint why repaint and where are the jack point covers. I told him my paint is 8 yrs old and looks like new for most part I told him its called WAX.

I have feeling this guy is scammer and dont know :censored::censored::censored::censored: about our cars. I was wondering why everything has been replaced evidentally for no reason like windshield and repainted when a Ford Exec owned it and it was cared for so great.

I wrote to him again.... we'll see what he says

I don't have problems with you, or how you describe your auction. All I ask is that you don't lie to people about your item. Too many unknown answers to "real" questions that you havn't responded to. You continue to talk down to anyone who really wants to know something about your car. It is too bad and you will probably get way less now because of your actions. Good luck and thanks for reading the thread about you on our Contour Enthusiasts Forum. We spot the "fakes" to help save others from making a poor financial mistake thinking they are getting a diamond and really end up with coal. - JOE

I agree with the message you wrote him. This car is definitely a clean car but don't try passing it on as something its not. This car is far from original and MINT. If the paint was actually repainted the original color, it might be worth picking up for a show piece.

As its already been asked...If its really been meticulously maintained:

Why did it need a new paint job? The paint on my 99 looks brand new. The paint on my 96 looked better than brand new. I waxed and polished that car religiously. Neither needed a new paint job. Of course, neither of them went through a car wash once in the entire life that I owned them. Did this woman that owned the car prior hand wash or take it through touchless carwashes? Doubtful.

Why new windshield?

Why are all jack covers missing?

Why were the headlights hazed with only 66K miles?

Why excessive wear on shift knob with only 66K miles? Why steering wheel cover?

Why excessive creases on the passenger side leather seat with only 66K miles? My guess is leather seats have probably never been conditioned in the entire life of the car. Luckily he has Midnight Blue interior which hides the dirt.

And for goodness sake, at least vacuum out your footwells of all the dirt and debris! That alone to me speaks volumes of how well a car is taken care of if the person doesn't even bother to clean the car before selling it.

Bottom line is this car has been cared for equally or worse than the average Joe Schmoe that owns a car. Sure, the the way the body and paint stands, it's in great condition (minus missing jack covers, headlights, etc), but more than likely, the previous owner ran it through car washes like 90% of drivers and the swirlmarks were unbearable, parked the car in the most convenient parking spot instead of parking it to avoid dings like 90% of drivers and the car was covered in door dings, and did preventive maintenance to the interior like 90% of drivers which includes an occasional vacuuming. That's how I see this SVT's past life.

I'm sure the owner of this car probably thinks were anal freaks when it comes to Contour's, but thats fine. Say what you want, but a person thats looking to buy an original and mint condition SVT is probably going to be anal too.

i asked him how he expected to sell his car by answering questions the way he was and he responded:

guarantee it spice boy! some people realise this que isnt for fag chat and actually ask questions about buying vehicles.now, go get in your neon drive your ass to 7-11, buy some preparation H and stickit up your ass!twice! along with your out of line comments.dont forget to wash your lil dirty chat typen fingers afterward eh, your mom told me she questions your higene!!! BYE BYE

i just like how childish he has been to everyone, i think somebody with a 2nd account should bid and not pay just to piss him off.

A born salesman this guy is not. I ran the Carfax and it's clean. The ownership history is a little strange, though.

The first guy owned the car for five months. The second guy for seven years. The third owner for five months, and the current one has owned it for seven months, having bought it on approximately 2/29.

3 mins left and a bidder with 0 feedback and another with +1 feedback are going at it ROFL.

EDIT: And it ends with a high bid of $3025 with reserve not met. :blackeye:

Easily worth $4300 the way it sits. A shame the seller is a d-bag.

Carfax history can be really unreliable. Don't trust their "owner" summaries, just look at the registration dates..
My first Contour reads as follows:
Owner 1 1998 - 2005
Owner 2 2005 - 2007
Owner 3 2007 - 2008

So I'm assuming it was sold as a "1 owner" car to the poor unsuspecting soul who bought it in 2005.
In fact, it was a 3 owner car at that point.

Carfax also screwed up my Nissan ownership history, since I moved twice in two years, once out of state. It indicated the car was sold and registered in both NH and MA in Nov. 2005, transfer of owners in 2006 and again in 2007 when I actually moved to NH.
