Post a pic of where you live

No tour in the pics, but here is 1 of the baddest shops in town!!! (A little messy)

Bethlehem, PA:

Main Street: Tons of "quaint" shops. I don't frequent the downtown area so I really don't know what is there.

They give horse and buggy rides during the Christmas season:

We have many historic buildings too. I posted in the Wikipedia thread about where you live. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bethlehem,_Pennsylvania

And then we have this:
musikfest.gif

It brings tons of people from all over the world. Why? I have no idea. Some locals may make a stop at the stupid festival but most stay away. Parking is an absolute nightmare too.

LauraSVT may enjoy a few featured acts:
http://www.musikfest.org/lineup/2008.asp
Jethro Tull, .38 Special, Poison, STP, Dennis DeYoung (from Styx for those that don't know) and Boston will all be making an appearance.
Me, I may hit up the Poison show. OK, probably not, I hate that damned festival. I'll try to catch the show on TV.
For you Jared (LauraSVT)... I do like Jethro Tull, .38 Special and Boston but I was never a big Styx fan. ;) I was a big hair band/metal type of chick in the 80's. Still into the metal.

One last shot. Since it was requested to have a Contour in a picture....
blastfurnace-1.jpg

That was taken at the now closed Bethlehem Steel. They're in the process of making that area into a casino, building a hotel and shops. It's my understanding that those blast furnace stacks will remain. They will preserve some of the other buildings and will also have a Bethlehem Steel Museum.

Luca, you'd probably appreciate this, with your musikfest..

Austin is home of the South By Southwest film and music festival. Also referred to as "SXSW".

wikipedia said:
]South by Southwest (SXSW) is a set of interactive, film, and music festivals and conferences that take place every spring in Austin, Texas. Originating as the Austin Battle of the Bands, SXSW officially began in 1987 and is centered on the downtown Austin Convention Center.

SXSW is one of the largest music festivals in the United States, with more than 1,400 performers playing dozens of venues around Austin over four days, in March.

In 1994, SXSW added film and interactive conferences. SXSW Film has become one of the world's premiere film festivals, focusing on new directing talent. Similarly, SXSW Interactive has attracted a strong following among web creators and entrepreneurs.
SXSW has spawned other festival such as North by Northeast (NXNE), an annual three-day live music festival and music conference in Toronto, held the second weekend in June.

I had to drive the celebrities, directors, actors, etc for that event. The most tiring job I've ever had, including working offshore. But, I got to rub elbows and atend VIP only performances, signings, and parties. so that was cool.

I just figured you'd enjoy it.. unless you could care less about the musikfest in the first place.

If it is any comfort, I can vouch and testify that he is in fact not gay...

Not to insult you, but... stealing your 'girl' friend doesn't make him any less gay... AFAIK all Emo's are the same sex... feminine men.

I hate Musikfest and so do most of the locals. ;) Traffic jams, no where to park (non issue for me since I live about three miles north), trash, fights, underage drinking, DUI's and the list goes on. Basically, you stay away from that side of town during those days.

Hell, the people that live in that area either take vacation and leave town or they take vacation and stay home. If they take their car out of it's parking spot they won't get one even remotely close to their house when they get home.

Now driving VIP's around, that sounds cool.
More tiring than working offshore? Wow! That sounded exhausting to me, staying up for 24 hours, etc.

The parties and signings sound like fun though. :)
