Traction control

so i got this 95 contour V6 with 100,000 miles and i have the traction control option and the on switch but how do i disable it. i did some reading and i know that there is suppose to be a switch to turn it off on the right side of the steering wheel. i have the switch on the left side to make it on all the time but i would like to be able to turn it off. any ideas.

the system default is on, when you press the switch on the left side of the steering wheel and the dash light comes on the system has been disabled.

also when the system is active and working the dash light will turn on
