http://www.glowshiftdirect.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=37 which one of these do i need? or should i just replace the stock unit with sender i got with the gauge? and where is it located at???
Ok, for my gauge (mechanical) The unit that got plugged into the block was too small to fit into the plug i removed off the block. So I had to get a reducer to thread into the block, then I threaded the "sending unit" part into the reducer. Ran my line from there up to the gauge and good to go.
There are two holes in the side of the block just forward of the oil filter. One hole is already in use for the oil pressure switch. The other hole will have a pipe plug in it. (Some of the Jaguars and Lincolns use this hole for an oil temperature sensor) Both holes have 3/8"-18 pipe threads. You may need a reducer to adapt the size of the threads in the block to whatever size your remote sensor is. (likely 1/4" pipe thread) These reducers are common. Just bring your remote sensor to the local Home Depot or equivalent and have them help you.
BTW, leave your stock sensor in the other hole so that the oil pressure light in the instrument cluster turns off.
I'm guessing that you hook the electric gauges into the stock sending unit somehow?

is it possible to tap into the stock oil pressure sender if you have an electrical oil pressure gauge??
