Never too early for fall meet planning

Well I was leaving the voting thread open for a little longer, but it seems there haven't been any new votes.
From the voting results, we're going with Saturday, October 10th.
Sorry to anyone that can't make it.
And I'm really sorry that I made the mistake earlier in this thread and said the 11th.

Mike and I will work on a good cruise route, and post up an official thread within the next week or so with all the details.

no idea yet

I'm not sure if we should do the scenic cruise before or after we visit Castle in the Clouds.
It might be better if we do CITC first, then cruise, then get some eats after the cruise.
I was thinking of organizing a central meeting point for those of us heading up from southern NE before we go to CITC.

I'll be in VA all week (leaving early tomorrow), so I don't have time yet to hammer out details.

no problems, was just wondering.

and I agree it might be better to take the drive after CITC. Actually let me ask Angela about CITC and if she thinks there is a good time of day to go having just been there recently.

no prefered time of day to go to CITC. but i would think with the time of year we would want to go earlier in the day then take the scenic drive, then off to dinner.

Well I don't think we will be able to make it on the 10th. :(
The 11th would have worked.
I won't know 100% for sure until the day before so ya never know

I'm trying not to get too excited:blackeye:

Chin up, old buddy! If you leave yourself some extra time, you'll make it up there no sweat!

some dinner options that I'd like opinions on:

http://www.muddymoose.com/

From reviews, Moat Mountain seems to be the best option for handling a large group, and I think we would enjoy the beer sampling they offer. ;)

Neither of those sound like bad choices, and I know where they are. I've been by the Muddy Moose many a time. North Conway, though, is an hour north of Moultonboro, and makes for a long haul back down 16 to 95 (or back to 93 for those headed that way) at the end of the day.

Strategically, I like the location of The Common Man, Ashland, on Main St. in Ashland, NH, adjacent to 93. This is south of The Castle in the Clouds, and on most everyone's (maybe everyone's) way home.

If the powers that be are absoultely set on trapsing into the Mount Washington Valley for dinner, I strongly recommend The Red Parka Pub (where they serve you a beer in a mason jar) five minutes north of Moat Mountain in Glen, NH. Heck, if we're already up there...

After Castle in the Clouds is the scenic cruise.
Mike really wants people to experience Hurricane Mountain road as well as Cathedral Ledge. Those require the hour scenic cruise to take us northward to the N. Conway area.

Thanks for the food suggestions. I figured if anyone would have good recommendations, it'd be you.

Just as a reminder, anyone is welcome to follow us back to Manchester at the end of the day. This can be a rest stop for those planning on driving further south, or could be an overnight stopover if you so desire.
