I'm sure many of you are tired of hearing me :censored: and moan about not having a usable garage. Well- the time has come. I began a project about three weeks ago to round up, relocate and trash anything that I felt wasn't supposed to be in the garage.

Which was, well, everything. My Dad never had time to make updates and my Mom made it a gardening boutique over the years. It is TIME for some TOOLS damnit!

Step One: Make some space! Notice the walls to the right with a classic jukebox selector.

Inside the walled up space: Useless. Crap.

Some patchwork: Walls are patched, most everything has been relocated out of the garage. The storage wall/frame was removed. That ish took a lot of trash bags to haul away! Note the awesome shelves have all been removed.

Walled in space is gone, exposing some electrical and cable wires. Also, some vintage ramps were supplied from a neighbor. Note the dangling cords with two prongs. Damn relics!

I can read upside down: Is it me or does something not look right with this?

Phase Two: Rotary Phones, Sanding, and Painting.

There, that looks a little better!

Added a wall mountable power strip and some wood trim. I removed the cable wiring that was to the right, and I'll be reusing the phone cord closer to that wall. Lastly, the electrical is going to be rerouted because it was simply ghetto rigged (stapled) to the wall that was once there.

I may be looking at an upgrade for that outlet there because I doubt it can handle the potential of the power strip itself.

And that's it for now. I'm trying desperately to get the majority of this done before the snow starts sticking, with the floor being patched and coated in epoxy in the late spring months of 09.

Just thought I would share.

Thanks guys- this is a tough project for other people to appreciate for some reason. I'm going to see how costly it will be to install fresh drywall, surrounding the drop down stairs you see. I am definitely installing new garage lighting.

Eventually, when it is all said and done, there will be cupboards and a work bench. I'm just striving for pure functionality at my budget right now.

Looks good, If you end up liking the power strip there I would take it apart and trim the cord and make it shorter.

Did you do that alone or did you have a little help?
I think you did a great job! I didn't know you were so handy.

Yes, all me, though I had to take the wood trim to my Mom's place because her boyfriend has a circular saw that I do not have yet. See my point about the garage? And nice edit woman.

Looking good! What car are we doing a motor/trans swap on first? :)

Shush you.

Maybe Bill will come over and help you clean. ;)
You should start your own company, Garage Cleaning by Bildo. :D Picture it... lots of hot women calling to get the garage cleaned out (take that one as you will ;) ), sounds like a score to me.

ugh! clean that out! It drives me nuts to see a perfectly good garage being used as a storage unit. If you lived closer I'd clean it out for winter parking rights for the SVT. ;)

That's just about how my garage looked, just move everything that would be on the car into some corners.

The garage was half cleared when I started taking pics.

If I started Garage Cleaning, I would charge By the Box. :ponder:
